*gasp* WOW, this book was SO DAMN HARD TO FIND!! Oh my god.I searched for over two years to get a copy of "The Butterfly Effect" at a decent price. All I could find were used copies going for over 100 Euros or Dollars. Seriously?!"The Butterfly Effect" is one of my all-time favorite movies; I've probably watched it 10+ times, so I really wanted to read the book. But honestly, it's not worth the hype. The book is based on the movie and is pretty much a carbon copy. Seriously, just watch the movie...

"There are no small things!" his father’s lips trembled. "It’s like ripples on a pond, echoes in a cave, ocean waves, falling dominoes, The Butterfly Effect..."So, don't get me wrong, The Butterfly Effect by James Swallow is good, but there was just something about the writing style that knocked it down a star, in my opinion.I'd give it a solid 6/10. The storyline was completely accurate to the film, didn't stray for one page, and only elaborated very slightly on the basic themes within each cha...

James Swallow's novelization of Bress and Gruber's film, "The Butterfly Effect," is a captivating and easy read. It sticks incredibly close to the movie, without straying from the original plot - except for the ending, which I appreciated for its clearer and more definitive answer about what happens after Evan and Kayleigh cross paths again. Reading "The Butterfly Effect" was a real pleasure. At times, I even preferred the book to the film because I could pause, absorb the scene, and process my ...

If I had the power to change the past, knowing that such interference could somehow affect the outcome of the future, would I be ready? Would I risk something dear to me and those close to me in order to alter the course of events? After reading *The Butterfly Effect* by James Swallow, I'm now struggling to give a definite answer. Yet, once again, I come to the conclusion that everything has its reason, even if it’s not entirely clear to us at first glance. Moreover, it's not worth tormenting yo...

"Love it"I absolutely loved *The Butterfly Effect*, though I did find myself occasionally arguing that some of the time travel twists flirted with philosophical impossibility. The film centers on a young man with the power to travel back in time and alter events in his life. Each attempt to change the past leads to a cascade of haphazard scenarios. No matter how desperately he tried to reshape history, some imperfection always surfaced in the future – something he couldn’t live with, compelling ...

Updates: I finally bought it! After like 3 freaking long years. Found a used copy in acceptable condition on eBay. Snatched it up for $11.91. Freaking expensive for a used book! There goes my book budget for the month. But I couldn't help myself. This book is out of print and very hard to find. Most copies are used and even more expensive than this one. Sighhh... at least I can sleep better knowing it's almost in my hands now. I hope they ship it out soon. Come to momma, baby!* August 4th, 2016 ...

This was the first book I've ever read that actually made me stop and put it down for a minute, just so I could have a proper cry. The Butterfly Effect by James Swallow? Loved it! Definitely one for the 'best book reviews' lists.

Surprisingly compelling... and it clarifies everything you didn't quite grasp in the film, *The Butterfly Effect* by James Swallow.
At times, it's even more dramatic and emotionally resonant than the movie itself, which had its moments but wasn't always consistent. If you're looking for a great book review that explains the story, this is it!

After catching a trailer for the movie, I snagged "The Butterfly Effect" at a corner store and devoured it on a trip. I thought the book, based on the screenplay, was absolutely brilliant.
Turns out the movie was positively dreadful, though. A complete letdown!
Go figure. If you're looking for a great thriller book review, definitely read James Swallow's "The Butterfly Effect" first.
