Okay, I am absolutely losing my mind over time travel stories, especially when they feature messy women messing with time and men desperately trying to control it all. AHHHHHHHHHHH YYYAAAASSSSSSS. "The Book of Lost Hours" by Hayley Gelfuso just hit all the right spots. Seriously, if you're looking for an addictive read, this might be your next obsession. Definitely a top contender in time travel book reviews!

I'm not always a fan of time travel stories but, when they're done right, I can get completely lost in them, just as they're written. Lisavet is 11 years old when she finds herself forced into time travel as her father's last act to save her. Here, she's surrounded by ghosts and memories of the past. But there are timekeepers (Russians and Americans) who come and go, some to destroy memories and impact history through political acts. One man, in particular, whom she falls in love with, becomes e...

In a Nutshell: *The Book of Lost Hours* is a historical speculative fiction that explores complex moral themes and the impact of censorship. It features a brilliant storyline, intriguing flawed characters, and excellent use of the post-war and Soviet-era timelines. The time-space continuum adds the perfect dash of fantasy and mystery. The pace is somewhat slow and it's a bit farfetched at times, but overall, a dazzling debut. Don’t overthink it, and you will enjoy it more. If you're looking for ...

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! This book was seriously intriguing and a pleasure to read. The core idea was so incredibly exciting, and the plot was really well-developed. It was beautiful, imaginative, and just a thrilling read. I'll be honest, it took me a little while to really get into *The Book of Lost Hours* by Hayley Gelfuso, and it sat at three percent for a while there. But once I picked it up again, I couldn't put it down. I ended up...

My Reviews Can Also Be Found On: The Book Review Crew BlogI can't believe that Hayley Gelfuso's *The Book of Lost Hours* is a debut novel. This book is absolutely stunning. In this story, eleven-year-old Lisavet is taken by her watchmaker father into the “time space.” It’s a huge, hidden library where every memory is contained within a book. However, there are spies trying to alter history by destroying anything they deem problematic. When a timekeeper arrives from the good old USA, Lisavet form...

4.5 ⭐️ “There are no secrets that time does not reveal.” – Jean RacineIt was a night like any other for eleven-year-old Lisavet Levy in 1938. Tucked under her covers, her father Ezekiel told her a bedtime story about a watch, a friend, and an enemy who wants to destroy what he and so many others hold dear. But for Ezekiel, it was more than just a story–and for Lisavet, it turned into her reality when her father hid her in the time space, closing the door behind him and never opening it again. Sh...

4.5 stars Another Book That Chose Me... and Wouldn’t Let GoConfession time. I only downloaded The Book of Lost Hours because it was part of the Camp NetGalley lineup. Honestly, I almost didn’t even start it. I thought my mood for danger, high stakes, and fast pace would put me off. But then Hayley Gelfuso's The Book of Lost Hours caught me. And didn’t let go.In 1938, young Livavet is pushed into a strange time-space library by her father, a watchmaker trying to protect her from the Nazis. The li...

This book reads like it was made for TV or film. The setting is incredibly atmospheric, and in a way, it reminded me of *House of Leaves* with how vast and empty the sense of time and space felt. All the characters, especially Lisavet Levy and Amelia Duquesne, have a distinct voice and feel. Lisavet’s quiet strength and Amelia’s confusion and curiosity carried me through the decades of *The Book of Lost Hours*. You really see how life shapes them and changes them. The reason I removed one star...
