I adore a time travel story done right, and pirates are endlessly fascinating to me, so the basic idea here really grabbed my attention. But... ugh, the whole thing was just a disaster. Kamery Solomon tries to cram in way too much (time travel, pirates, hidden treasure, cringeworthy instant love, Templars, Greek gods - please, make it end!) that the plot just feels underdeveloped. Every time one of the pirate characters spoke, the most ridiculously cliché dialogue came out – think “Arrr, shiver ...

Seriously, what *did* I just read? From the jump, "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance" by Kamery Solomon was a total train wreck. Pirates, romance, time travel, Templars, Greek gods, betrayal... it was all just thrown in there. Honestly, it didn't feel like I was reading an actual story. After 365 pages, I still felt like I hadn't understood a single thing. One minute we're in the present, then BAM, time travel to the past. Then months later we're *there*, and then months after that, w...

I'm giving "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance" by Kamery Solomon a five-star rating for a few reasons. Honestly, it took me a little while to really get into it, but once the story got going, I was completely swept away!
Tristan? Seriously swoon-worthy. We need more love interests like him, please and thank you! The relationship dynamic was fantastic, and the characters developed beautifully. Plus, the plot moved at such a fast pace that I stayed up way past my bedtime more than onc...

I really didn't click with "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance" by Kamery Solomon, this whole blend of time-travel, treasure hunt, love story, and pirate adventure. It had some interesting bits, but they just didn't come together for me.Samantha and Tristan's romance felt forced, and honestly, Samantha got on my nerves. Some of the pirate fight scenes were super violent and bloody. There was also a ton of talk about a booby-trapped treasure pit on Oak Island that I couldn't quite foll...

This book is just… a lot.Kamery Solomon tries to cram everything in. And honestly, not much of it lands. Time travel, pirates, Knights Templar, treasure hunts, Greek gods… and that's *before* you even get to the backstory and the romance. Oh, and naturally, there's more than one bad guy.The core story in *Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance* is decent, though sometimes Sam makes some seriously questionable choices. This book probably wins the award for “most people who know the heroine...

I've honestly never encountered a book quite like "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance" by Kamery Solomon – one that manages to say so little across so many pages. Everything felt incredibly superficial, glossed over without any real depth or substance. I was hoping for a good historical romance, but this wasn't it.It's as if the author didn't bother doing any research about the historical period. None of the characters seem remotely puzzled by Sam's modern language or expressions. Ins...

Pirates? Yes. Time traveling? Yes.
The beginning was painfully slow; I slightly had to force myself to get through it. I understand that Kamery Solomon had to show us Samantha's backstory in "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance," but some parts could have been skipped. It would have made sense even without them.
The protagonist, Samantha Greene, travels to meet her treasure hunter father and help him explore the Treasure Pit on Oak Island after her mother's death. In the process, she...

Samantha Greene, the protagonist of Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance by Kamery Solomon, assists her father in excavating the Treasure Pit on Oak Island, only to find herself hurtling back to the 17th century. There, she's rescued (or is it abducted?) by pirates, disguises herself as a man to join their crew, and ultimately becomes entangled in a mission to safeguard Templar secrets. Along the way, she falls head over heels for the dashing pirate Tristan O'Rourke. The burning questio...

When I saw the description promising a blend of Pirates of the Caribbean and Outlander, I was instantly hooked! And let me tell you, "Swept Away: An Oak Island Time-Travel Romance" by Kamery Solomon was one heck of a thrilling adventure.
The story kicks off in the present day, with Samantha heading to meet her estranged treasure-hunter father after her mother's passing. Although she's skeptical about his work, she gets swept up in the excitement and joins the hunt. When a rival treasure seeker ...
