Mobsters, Magic, and MayhemI'm genuinely surprised more of my Goodreads friends haven't stumbled upon Larry Correia and *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel*. It's a total gem of a series! We're talking high-quality urban fantasy, loaded with guns, non-stop action, and characters you actually care about. This book really packs a punch!I highly recommend the audiobook version; the narrator injects so much personality into each character and nails the accents perfectly. If you're looking for a...

Cross posted to The Literary Lawyer.ca I am Officially Hooked! - 5 Stars After reading Hard Magic (the first in the series) I knew I would like the series but wasn't convinced I would *love* it. Any doubts I had about the series vanished soon after starting this installment. At first, this series was hard to describe because it was so different from anything I'd read before. I think I'll classify it as Magical Superhero Noir. It's got elements of alternate history and the smoky charm of a PI...

This is the second book in the Grimnoir trilogy. I was completely hooked by Hard Magic, so I bumped this one up my reading list. The series is set in an alternate history where a massive magical "power" arrived on Earth in the 1850s, granting superpowers to a small percentage of people. These magical "Actives" are now being persecuted by the government. The conspiracy to round up, imprison, or eliminate all Actives is a major driving force in *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel* by Larry Co...

Alright, after mulling it over, I'm going with a 5-star rating for "Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel". While I generally prefer the Monster Hunter International series, these books are consistently good and enjoyable. The 1-to-5 rating system has its limitations, and this book definitely deserves better than a 4, but it's not quite at the very top of my 5-star list. So, a 4.5... again.

I don't think I've had more fun with two books in a while than I've had with Larry Correia's Grimnoir Chronicles. I absolutely devoured *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel* and its predecessor, *Hard Magic*. They were both sheer awesomeness—pure, unadulterated fun. The action was relentless, the characters were vibrant and engaging, the writing was sharp, and the villains were wonderfully over-the-top. We're talking zombies, aliens, demons, magic, massive airships, Tesla death rays, conspir...

The story in *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel* could have been ripped straight from an X-Men comic – and I mean that as the highest compliment. Looking for a thrilling urban fantasy novel? Look no further! As I mentioned in my review of the first book in this series, what I love most about Larry Correia's Grimnoir Chronicles is its unique blend of noir, steampunk, urban fantasy, and sci-fi, all set in an alternate 1930s America. The Grimnoir are a secret society of magically empowered ind...

Action. Pure, unadulterated action. Excitement. Mind-boggling fight sequences. Lots and lots of guns. That's what I expect every time I pick up a Larry Correia book, and with *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel*, that's exactly what you get. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish and is full of set pieces that leave you gaping in awe. *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel* is just an absolute blast to read.

This is part of the review I wrote about Hard Magic, book one in the Grimnoir Chronicles by New York Times bestseller, Larry Correia:“Imagine X-Men crossed with the 1920’s period show by HBO, Boardwalk Empire . . . The world building is top notch and well researched . . . the alternate history alone makes this worth the read . . . . There’s airships, superhero smack downs, lots of guns, and great writing. If you enjoy lots of action and have a special place in your heart for super heroes, this i...

Larry is allowed to eat healthy, exercise, get the doctor's recommended amount of sleep, spend holidays with family... but other than that, he seriously needs to write more for this series. Some of us are addicts, and it's just not fair to keep us in constant withdrawals! Doesn't the Bill of Rights prohibit authors from the tyranny of *not* writing fast enough? Seriously, Larry Correia, when is the next *Spellbound: A Grimnoir Chronicles Novel* coming out? We need our fix! For fans of fantasy bo...
