Jessica and Danny meet and immediately feel drawn to each other. A friendship quickly develops into something more, but their relationship is difficult. Danny has had a very traumatic childhood, which makes it almost impossible for him to lead a somewhat normal life. ** I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. So thank you, Jessica Koch! I’m really glad I got the opportunity to read *So Near the Horizon*! **”Time heals all wounds.”“But every wound leaves a scar.”To write a proper review about *So Near the Horizon* is kind of hard, and if I had to describe the book with one word, it probably would be “heartbreak.” Well, I most certainly wouldn’t use the word romance because I feel like this is the wrong word. When I think about r...

So Near the Horizon by Jessica Koch is a sweet, simple romance read.
There WILL be spoilers in this review, so beware!
Romance seems to be a hit-or-miss genre – there are FANTASTIC novels, and there are HORRIBLE novels. *So Near the Horizon* falls just below fantastic. This story starts out as if it's fiction. You don't realize it's based on Jessica's life (I mean...her name and the character's name are the same, but I honestly didn't even notice. See how much I pay attention?).
Almost immed...

RTC...not something I wanted to continue reading. A frustrating and stressful story to finish. BTW, I'm wavering on the rating: 2 or 2.5 stars...definitely not 4 or 5. Honestly, this book review reflects my struggle to connect with Jessica Koch's *So Near the Horizon*. I found the narrative difficult to engage with, making it a stressful read. If you're looking for easy reading, this might not be it.

"We resided together in unconditional love, United through pain and cemented through the trust we’d worked so hard to build between us.”I'll admit, when I read the synopsis and even the first 50 pages or so, I wasn't sure that Jessica Koch's *So Near the Horizon* was for me. Generally speaking, I don't really go for romance novels. I could count on one hand the number of romance novels I've actually enjoyed. Plus, in the beginning, there were a few cliches and tropes I wasn't keen on. ("You're n...

I received a copy of **So Near the Horizon** from Jessica Koch in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much, Jessica! Honestly, this is the best book I've been asked to read.Trigger warning: Rape, sexual abuse, drug use, suicidal thoughts. My heart is truly broken, knowing that **So Near the Horizon** is based on a *true story*. I honestly can't even comprehend everything that must have happened. I'm still crying after reading the last 50 pages. Because this is based on real events, this r...

I started reading "So Near the Horizon" knowing it was supposed to be deeply moving and emotionally intense. But I never imagined the story would be so horrifying, so heartbreaking, and so unfair. It's hard to even rate such a true and tragic story, but this book unequivocally deserves 5 stars. For the way it's written, and for the fact that a large portion of the proceeds are donated to charity.
Never before have I felt so much pain, anger, and grief while reading a book. At times, I truly los...

The last time I cried like this was when I was 14 and my boyfriend at the time broke up with me for the first time, and I thought I had lost the love of my life (which, of course, he wasn't). I'm not going to rate this book. But here's a quote from Kafka that I think does justice to "So Near the Horizon": "A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us." Thank you to Jessica Koch for sharing her and Danny's story with us. If you're looking for emotional book reviews, be prepared - "So Near ...
