Who would've thought I'd be sobbing over a murder mystery? Holly Jackson, you're going to pay for my therapy š¤§āš»
Seriously, 'Seven Days to Die' by Holly Jackson wrecked me. If you're looking for a gripping thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end, and maybe even make you shed a tear or two (or ten), then this is it. This book review is coming to you live from my emotional support blanket fort.

Really enjoyed this book!! I LOVE the concept. Holly Jackson's most unique and highest stakes book, in my opinion. I love that "Seven Days to Die" is SUCH a great balance of comedic relief through Jet's dark humor, but also heartbreaking at moments because she only has 7 days left to live. The only two things stopping me from rating this book higher are: 1. although I loved Jet & Billy, I didn't feel super emotionally connected to them. 2. I never saw the ending coming, but I do think I have rea...

I'll be frankāI never have any complaints about the mystery elements in Holly Jackson's stories. It's the other aspects that leave me feeling a bit unsure. But first things first, I'm blown away by the cleverness of the premise. Jet is attacked and left for dead, but miraculously survives, though she only has seven days before a resulting brain aneurysm ruptures and kills her. She wants to use those last days to figure out who tried to kill her. Along with her childhood best friend and sidekick, ...

A knife to the heart would've honestly hurt less...Holly Jackson seriously owes me money for therapy; I spent hours sobbing. That was absolutely *not* fun. I knew what was coming in *Seven Days to Die*, and it *still* caught me by surprise, and it *still* hurtāit hurt so damn much! There's going to be a little spoiler section at the end, clearly marked, just so you're warned in advance!!Jet gets attacked on Halloween. She survives, but with a brain injury that'll kill her in a week. She decides t...

- This really should have been marketed as YA, because it definitely reads like one.
- Dropping a bunch of F-bombs doesn't automatically make a book adult fiction.
- Jet is just a dumb name for a character.
- She keeps repeating how she was murdered, how she's going to solve her own murder, or some variation of that, and honestly, it gets incredibly tiresome.
- The characters are completely one-dimensional, and none of them sound like mature adults, including the main character.
- The audiobook...

Holly Jackson's adult debut, everyone lose your minds.https://emmareadstoomuch.substack.com...The real reason **Seven Days to Die** is categorized as adult and not YA isn't just because the main character is nearly thirty. It's because the world is bleak, everyone's a villain, and the true murder mystery was inside us the whole time. You know, grown-up stuff.I guess I'm still full of childlike wonder and destined for eternal life, because this book was kind of a downer for me.It's hard to swallow...

My heart is shattered! Iām crying my eyes out! šš
I knew it wasnāt wise to get attached to a protagonist with a literal ticking time bomb in her headābut I couldnāt help it! I got so deeply attached to Jet⦠and sweet, loyal Billy! How could I not?! This is, without a doubt, one of the smartest and most emotionally devastating concepts Holly Jackson has ever crafted. *Seven Days to Die* is a thriller that hurtsāand I mean that in the best way possible.
The final chapters completely wrecked me....

āāāI'm a massive fan of Holly Jackson, always ready to be swept away by her knack for crafting a good mystery. While her books usually have me on the edge of my seat, I have to admit *Seven Days to Die* was a bit of a letdown. So, did I enjoy it? Yes. Would I recommend it? Obviously. Where did it fall short for me? Let me explain. The premise is brilliant: a crime scene, a victim with only a week to live, a past conviction, an aneurysm, an ex-boyfriend, a construction company, and a bunch of susp...

\n 3.95!\nHolly Jackson, the way your mind works is truly amazing.I'm so conflicted about what to rate *Seven Days to Die* because it could have been a solid four-star read with its setup and writing, but it just wasn't quite as good as her other books. And keep in mind, I'm not rating this on my personal \"Holly Jackson scale,\" where I compare how much I enjoyed this book to her others and how impactful it was. Considering that, this rating would be higher compared to other thrillers, but I f...
