I dove into the first book of the Royal Spyness Mysteries back in 2017 and then kind of forgot about it because I was already hooked on Rhys Bowen's Molly Murphy series. But lately, Molly's been a bit of a downer, and her relationship with Daniel is stuck in neutral, so I needed a break. That's when I decided to revisit Lady Georgiana, and I'm so glad I did!Lady Georgiana is way more entertaining. She's genuinely funny, and her adventures are much lighter than Molly's heavy drama. Plus, I absolu...

Synopsis from Goodreads:It's 1930s London, and Lady Georgiana -- thirty-fourth in line to the throne -- has a lot on her plate, but little in her cupboards, in this national bestseller...Baked beans and boiled eggs. That's what my houseguest, the Bavarian princess, will have to eat if I don't get help pronto. The Queen of England has requested I entertain said princess, placing her in the playboy prince's path, in hopes he might finally marry. But queens never consider money, of which I have litt...

The whole communist subplot wasn't really my thing in Royal Blood (A Royal Spyness Mystery), but I absolutely loved the Princess (most of the time) and all those fabulous house parties. I did miss Darcy and Belinda a bit; they should have had bigger roles. But no worries, I know they'll be back in force in the next books. More of those delightful parties, plus the added glamour of real royals and the infamous Mrs. Simpson. If you're looking for fun, lighthearted historical mystery books, Rhys Bo...

Another delightful cozy mystery starring the perpetually broke Lady Georgiana, great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria and 34th in line to the throne! In this installment of *Royal Blood (A Royal Spyness Mystery)* by Rhys Bowen, Georgie is tasked by the Queen herself to entertain a visiting foreign princess. The Queen hopes this princess will catch the eye of the Prince of Wales and distract him from "that dreadful Simpson woman." But, as always, things are far from simple. Before long, Georgie's ...

A fun vacation read. I really enjoyed the antics in "Royal Blood (A Royal Spyness Mystery)". Lady Georgie is 34th in line for the throne, but penniless and living in London without an allowance. In this story, she matures a bit, learning to see people as equals. As in the first book, the mystery is a relatively small part of the story. This series, by Rhys Bowen, is a fun, light, fluffy look at social status and society... with a few dead bodies and a touch of mystery sprinkled throughout. A fun ...

This series is proving to be such a hilarious and uproarious delight. If P. G. Wodehouse had ever penned mystery novels, I imagine they would have felt just like Rhys Bowen's *Royal Blood (A Royal Spyness Mystery)*. A truly enjoyable cozy mystery!

Review written May 26, 20164.3 Stars - Simply wonderfully cozy 9 hrs mystery fun Book #2My latest reading passion (started last fall) are all these lighthearted cozy mystery novels. A genre even better as audiobooks. I really liked the serial starter, Her Royal Spyness (4.2), back in January. It was with a good feeling I started this second part.London June, 1934So much fun to once again meet the Queen's amateur spy. Lady Georgie (aka Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie Rannoch, cousin of ...

1.5 starsAgain, I went in expecting more, and again, I'm left feeling let down. It takes ages for the actual 'mystery' to properly kick off. Georgie is repetitive, whiny, and unbelievably thick. Just like in the first book, she doesn't really solve anything herself, but the answer just falls into her lap thanks to the villain's actions – always conveniently at the right time and place. To top it off, the writing felt off. The characters' word choices, the incredibly articulate anti-communist arg...
