“For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my battle-brother eternal.” There are simply too many powerful quotes to share; this is the story of my people—beautiful, poetic, and deeply tragic. If you are looking for an intense, character-driven science fiction novel, Red Fury: Blood Angels by James Swallow is an absolute must-read. It’s a gripping addition to the series that captures the heart of the lore perfectly. Highly recommended for any fan looking for their next great book review r...

This is the third installment in James Swallow’s Blood Angels series, and in my opinion, it is easily the best one yet. The storyline is significantly stronger, and we see much deeper character development here than in the preceding books, Deus Encarmine and Deus Sanguinius. Red Fury: Blood Angels is a fantastic read for any fan of the series looking for a gripping sci-fi book review.

Honestly, Red Fury: Blood Angels by James Swallow was a fun read, but looking back, I have no idea how I managed to get through it when I was 14. It’s definitely a wild ride for any fan of sci-fi book reviews looking for something intense.

This is the third installment in the series, but I jumped into Red Fury: Blood Angels as a standalone novel, and it honestly didn’t impact my enjoyment at all. The story is set deep within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, so it probably won’t hold much appeal for readers who aren't already familiar with the lore or the tabletop setting. The narrative kicks off with a Blood Angels squad dispatched to locate the Flesh Tearers chapter amidst a chaotic war zone to deliver a vital message. This opening ...

It is such a fantastic feeling when you find yourself enjoying each installment of a series even more than the last. I really feel that James Swallow is hitting his stride, developing a highly engaging and readable style that keeps you hooked. I was so engrossed that I dove straight into Red Fury: Blood Angels. If you are looking for a gripping sci-fi book review, this series is definitely one to watch.

Bookworm Speaks!Warhammer 40,000Red Fury: Blood Angels by James Swallow ****The Story: The adventures of Rafen, Battle Brother of the Blood Angels, continue as the chapter faces a terrifying crisis following the devastating fallout of the Blood Angels Civil War. With their numbers severely depleted, Lord Commander Dante is forced to call upon the disparate Sons of Sanguinius to reach out to their brethren and seek a solution. All the while, a sinister plot boils within the Blood Angels themselve...

Full disclosure: this review is going to be incredibly biased because of my obsession with the Blood Angels and all their Successor Chapters. This is especially true for the Flesh Tearers, who play such a massive role in the plot here. Lucky me! Overall, Red Fury: Blood Angels starts off at a fairly slow pace. If you aren't a die-hard fan of the Blood Angels—or at least genuinely interested in their lore—you might find the beginning a bit of a chore. However, as a dedicated fan, I absolutely lov...

Red Fury: Blood Angels picks up with Rafen, now a Brother-Sergeant, leading his squad onto a planet gripped by the forces of Chaos. The Flesh-Tearer Space Marines respond by dropping a building on them; they know the Blood Angels will survive the impact, and they’re just being difficult—partly because they suspect the Blood Angels have come to interfere. In reality, Rafen is only there to deliver a message: he’s asking Chapter Master Seth to attend a conclave of chapters—all of them successors d...

Red Fury: Blood Angels kicks off with a Blood Angel Sergeant and his squad stationed on the planet Eritaen. Their mission is critical: locate the Flesh Tearers Chapter Master and convince him to spare some of his battle-brothers to help the Blood Angels rebuild their numbers following the events that pushed them to the brink of civil war. The Blood Angels and their successor chapters eventually gather on Baal, but the traitor Fabius Bile soon appears, wreaking havoc across the planet. While the ...
