Non-Stop Action!Aside from the prequel, this is the first official entry in the series. Jack Sigler and his elite “Chess Team” are back on the job, taking the fight directly to the bad guys. The plot centers on Manifold, a shadowy company obsessed with cracking the code to immortality. They’ve been conducting twisted experiments on unsuspecting victims, and those who don’t make the cut are quickly—and ruthlessly—disposed of.It’s up to Jack and his crew to take down Ridley and his corrupt organiza...

4.25 Stars If you are looking for your next gripping page-turner, look no further than Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure by Jeremy Robinson. This book is an absolute adrenaline rush from start to finish. Robinson has a unique talent for blending high-stakes tension with character-driven storytelling, and Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure is easily one of his most compelling works to date. The plot moves at a breakneck pace, keeping you glued to the pages as the team faces impossible odds. While some mi...

Still enjoyable on a reread. It's escapist, over-the-top adventure pure and simple.Rook. Knight. Queen. Bishop. These are the call signs for members of a five-person special ops unit, one of the most elite Delta Force teams in existence. The fifth member is their leader, Jack Sigler, call sign “King.” Turning suicidal missions into successful outcomes is just how they roll. But when a well-earned, two-week R&R break ends with King unexpectedly staring down the barrel of a gun, and genetic terror...

It took me quite a while to finish this first installment in the series. Much like James Rollins, Jeremy Robinson has a real talent for crafting sci-fi historical thrillers that pack a serious punch. That said, James Rollins remains my personal favorite in the genre. Much like the Sigma Force team, the characters in Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure are a diverse group of special ops experts dedicated to saving the world. This specific story ties into Greek mythology, focusing on Hercules. After the...

Some books are well-written, and some… well, not so much. Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure grabbed me, strapped me into a roller-coaster from hell, and slammed the “full speed ahead” button. I prefer to just enjoy my books rather than over-analyze them—especially when it comes to fiction—so here are my thoughts on this gripping read:First, I absolutely loved the chess references. Seriously, keep them coming. Second, the “stunts” in this book felt surprisingly believable. I didn’t get that annoying ...

This is the second book I've read by Jeremy Robinson, and I can say I’m a fan of his style. In Secondworld, he introduced neo-Nazis with a sinister plan to destroy the world, saving only 'their kind.' In Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure, he shifts gears to an amoral billionaire with a plan to live forever and profit from medical technology by selling it to the highest bidder. Throw in some Greek mythology, and you’ve got gold. Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure is a fantastic blend of high-octane action...

Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure by Jeremy Robinson is the definition of fun popcorn entertainment. It delivers high-octane action mixed with just the right amount of science and horror. I am definitely hooked and will be continuing with the series. Highly recommended for action seekers and fans of classic Syfy channel-style movies looking for their next great book review read.

The story feels like it drops you right into the middle of the action without much warning. While the characters in Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure by Jeremy Robinson show some real potential, only a couple of them move beyond being two-dimensional. Honestly, the villains are far more intriguing and well-developed than the heroes, which feels like a major missed opportunity for the kind of deep character growth and team dynamics you want in a story like this. That said, the pacing is relentless—th...

Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure by Jeremy Robinson is a high-octane blend of thriller, action, adventure, and science fiction, marking the explosive start to Robinson's Chess Team series. The Chess Team is an elite Delta Force unit overseen by their handler, Deep Blue, with members operating under chess-themed call signs—King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, and Rook. To put it simply: this is pure, adrenaline-fueled entertainment. In this debut outing, the Chess Team is deployed to rescue Dr. George Pier...

This was my first taste of Jeremy Robinson’s writing, and it left me hungry for more. Pulse: A Chess Team Adventure erupts from the starting gate like a jet and never lets up, perfectly balancing tension and high-octane action with solid character moments and an intriguing plot. While the characters don't undergo massive transformations, they feel real enough to earn your empathy, and the hidden depths of their personalities blend seamlessly with their special-ops backgrounds. The story incorpor...
