The way I immediately sprinted to return "Prince of Pain" on KU 🫢 🏃🏽♀️. Needed that off my Kindle ASAP because, like, WTF did I just read? Seriously, Julie Mannino, what was that?

"Prince of Pain" was genuinely dark but also very intriguing, and short enough to finish in under an hour. Definitely take a close look at the content warnings before diving in. If you're looking for a quick, dark read, Julie Mannino's "Prince of Pain" might be for you.

I read the first five of these little novellas on a dare and... I absolutely cannot recommend them for so many reasons. See my highlights for details. In a nutshell, the content warnings don't even begin to cover half of the stuff in this series... and the series itself has no overarching plot, no real story, and no cohesive world-building. It's just a string of rape/slave fantasy smut vignettes featuring mPreg, non-con, and almost zero magic. At best, this is someone's kink-filled headcanon broug...

DNF @ 53% OMFG 🙀 I was so not prepared for this book, **Prince of Pain** by Julie Mannino, and I can’t read another second of it. Also, Amazon, why are you recommending this to me? I know I read dark stuff, but this is like truly, truly fucked up and not for me one bit. NO NO NO NO NO!So this is a 5-part “fairy tale” about a fairy who pays a shitload of money to be kidnapped and treated like a slave for 3 days. So, he gets kidnapped and then all hell breaks loose. I get this is supposed to be a...

This is a really short story that introduces us to the Prince of Pain and his new pleasure/pain slave. The fantasy setting, complete with fairies and magic, adds an intriguing layer. However, I still found that it was a little too dark for my personal taste. If you like dark fantasy romance, definitely check out "Prince of Pain" by Julie Mannino.

Is this supposed to be fanfic or a yaoi novel? 🤔 Even if it is, it's immature and simplistic, even for that genre.
I kept double-checking – did I somehow miss paragraphs? Pages? There wasn't much world-building or character history at all.
From what I can gather, this isn't a book with a cliffhanger; it's just a chapter. If you're looking for detailed book reviews, I'd suggest giving Julie Mannino's *Prince of Pain* a pass.

Well, damn. Compared to "Prince of Pain" by Julie Mannino, absolutely nothing else is going to seem quite as bleak 😂. Seriously, this book sets a new bar for dark romance. If you're looking for a light and fluffy read, steer clear. But if you want a story that will leave you emotionally wrecked in the best possible way, then "Prince of Pain" is your next obsession. This is a must-read for dark romance fans!

Short and kinky. Love it. If you're looking for a quick read that doesn't pull any punches, Julie Mannino's "Prince of Pain" delivers. A perfect little bite of dark romance.

Okay, things got dark real quick. I was genuinely worried for Liam, but damn, this was good. Prince Briar showed up just when he needed to, but I'm not exactly seeing him as Liam's knight in shining armor. I'm dying to see just how sadistic he really is 😊. Julie Mannino's "Prince of Pain" definitely delivers the dark romance!
