"Prince of Pain" was genuinely dark but also very intriguing, and short enough to finish in under an hour. Definitely take a close look at the content warnings before diving in. If you're looking for a quick, dark read, Julie Mannino's "Prince of Pain" might be for you.

This is a really short story that introduces us to the Prince of Pain and his new pleasure/pain slave. The fantasy setting, complete with fairies and magic, adds an intriguing layer. However, I still found that it was a little too dark for my personal taste. If you like dark fantasy romance, definitely check out "Prince of Pain" by Julie Mannino.

I kept double-checking – did I somehow miss paragraphs? Pages? There wasn't much world-building or character history at all.

Well, damn. Compared to "Prince of Pain" by Julie Mannino, absolutely nothing else is going to seem quite as bleak 😂. Seriously, this book sets a new bar for dark romance. If you're looking for a light and fluffy read, steer clear. But if you want a story that will leave you emotionally wrecked in the best possible way, then "Prince of Pain" is your next obsession. Okay, things got dark real quick. I was genuinely worried for Liam, but damn, this was good. Prince Briar showed up just when he needed to, but I'm not exactly seeing him as Liam's knight in shining armor. I'm dying to see just how sadistic he really is 😊.
