This novel is a fascinating blend of historical fiction and mystery, transporting you back to the 1990s. It perfectly captures the zeitgeist of that era, when the exhilarating world of dot-com start-ups was exploding alongside a growing undercurrent of Unabomber-esque distrust towards modern society and the dawn of the internet. It's a real page-turner for fans of suspenseful book reviews.

4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 for Goodreads because I LOOOVED this book! I couldn't stop thinking about "Paradise Found" when I wasn't listening, and I couldn't wait to dive back in. Plus, it was creative, thought-provoking, unique, and a perfect blend of genres. Basically, my favorite kind of book lately ππΌπ§ The audiobook was SO good, too. Narrated by one of my absolute faves, Helen Naser (the same narrator as "THE WEDDING PEOPLE" and "YELLOWFACE"), which is probably why I loved "Paradise Found...

Then she discovers her dad's a criminal, which sends her running to San Francisco to dig into her past.Ja...

"The first thing you have to understand is that my father was my entire world."The mid-1990s saw a significant rise in conspiracy theories, fueled by the growth of technology and the internet. Public trust in the government nosedived after a string of broken promises. UFO enthusiasts believed the government was covering things up, especially after several movies portrayed it as fact. The end of the Cold War bred uncertainty about other countries, and critical race theory gained prominence thanks...

2.5 stars. *Paradise Found* by Janelle Brown had an intriguing premise that immediately caught my attention. A young woman raised in isolation, a father-daughter relationship built on secrecy, and a journey to uncover the truth about her pastβit all sounded like the kind of story I would love. But as much as I wanted to be fully immersed, I just couldnβt connect with it the way I had hoped.
Iβve read *Pretty Things* by this author and enjoyed it, so I was excited to pick this one up. The writin...
