Posted to The Literary Lawyer.ca The Weakest Link is Still Strong - 3.5 Stars It appears that I am out of fresh Larry Correia material and I have to settle in for the long wait once again....Monster Hunter Nemesis (Monster Hunter International, Book 5) takes the series down a side street of the overall story development. In a manner similar to Monster Hunter Alpha, this installment focuses on one character and reads more like #4.5 than #5 in the series. This was not the best in the series; in ...

⚠️ The gif game is strong with this one. You have been warned and stuff. So the MC for this installment is one of the secondary characters in the series, Agent Franks of the super extra secret U.S. Monster Control Bureau. I’d tell you stuff about him but I can’t because major spoiler spoiler spoiler for those who haven’t read book 2 in the series, so I won’t. You’re welcome and stuff. You don’t really need the details, anyway. I mean, all you really need to know about him is what he likes to do i...

"There was no way you were behind that attack . . . There were way too many survivors.” Franks nodded. He appreciated the compliment.Just when I'm absolutely certain this series can't possibly get any better, Larry Correia proves me wrong... and this time he's got a little help from Franks. Talk about a man with a past! Talk about a man with absolutely no future! Talk about a man whose story is utterly gut-wrenching. Talk about all these things and you're talking about Franks. My feelings for hi...

Oh, where do I even begin with this book? xD I think *Monster Hunter Nemesis* might just be my favorite in the series… maybe? But a huge part of that is thanks to the audiobook. I absolutely adore Oliver Wyman's narration for these characters. That man can do no wrong in this universe, at least from what I've heard so far! ^___^ Though I've only listened to the original five books, not the two spin-offs... xDI find Franks hilarious, but I probably have a slightly weird and dry sense of humor, th...

Let's be frank: I'm a slow reader. To make matters worse, I'm a serial book buyer and starter, and years can go by after I buy a book before I actually start it, let alone finish it. Except for anything by Larry Correia. Somehow, Correia has figured out the secret combination to writing novels that are fun, satisfying, and one hundred percent engrossing. If you're going to interrupt me while I'm in the middle of one of his novels, the house better be on fire. Not because I won't come otherwise...

This is an excellent book, as are (so far) all the Monster Hunter International volumes. Of course, they're excellent "brain candy." This isn't great literature with a deep, insightful message that will change your philosophical view of life... well, probably not anyway. Then again, if you pick up a book titled *Monster Hunter Nemesis* expecting *War and Peace*, there may be a problem anyway. The story is expanding here (as most urban fantasy series seem to) from simply the adventures of a grou...

This just dropped as a Baen eARC (Electronic Advanced Reader Copy) – basically an unproofed version, still needing a final polish before hitting shelves. Baen sells these a few months before the physical copies appear, for those of us willing to shell out a bit extra to skip the wait.Worth. Every. Single. Cent.Damn, that was a blast.Looks like we're getting another book or two in the Monster Hunter series, building to one hell of a climax that I absolutely CANNOT wait for. WRITE FASTER, LARRY CO...

This book wasn't what I expected, but honestly, I don't even care. I absolutely love the Monster Hunter series. The books are packed with action, they move at a blistering pace, and they're just plain fun. Awesome? Definitely. High-brow literature? Not by a long shot. If you are looking for a thrilling monster hunter book review, look no further. Unlike the other books in the series, this one doesn't focus on one of the MHI agents. Instead, Larry Correia gives us a good, long, hard look into Age...

What was that part about the valley of death? Oh, yeah, "Yay, though he walks through the shadow of the valley of death, Franks fears no evil. 'Cause he's the meanest son of a bitch IN the valley!" This was a great sequel. I think it is possibly my favorite. Franks is a wonderful character. As much as I wondered if we would see growth in Franks, I was just as pleased when I finally saw some. Franks has huge depth, perhaps more than any other character in the MHI Stable. I would also say th...

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!! I absolutely loved Frank's story and where the overall arc is heading. I was genuinely surprised by some of the revelations about Frank's past and I seriously can't wait for the next installment in the Monster Hunter International series! If you're a fan of action-packed urban fantasy, grab "Monster Hunter Nemesis" by Larry Correia – you won't regret it! A definite must-read for fans of monster hunter books!
