The writing is really flat. There's just no real flavor to it. The one positive thing I can say about "Messenger for the Dead" by Matthew Fults is that the action scenes are pretty good. If you're looking for fast-paced fantasy books, this might scratch that itch, but don't expect much from the prose.

Stayed up all night reading this!Messenger for the Dead: A Mathieu James Thriller by Matthew Fults is the kind of book that just grabs you and won't let go. I absolutely couldn't put it down. The story throws you headfirst into a high-stakes international manhunt, and I was kept guessing right up until the very end. Mathieu James and Conan MacGregor's relentless chase after Aadan Mukhtaar had me completely hooked, and as things got more intense, I started questioning who they could actually trus...

This is a tense, fast-paced international thriller that doesn’t let up right through to the satisfying climax. I felt myself physically tense up throughout the book, and several times I was reminded of *The Day of the Jackal*. Matthew Fults’ second book, *Messenger for the Dead*, somehow improved on the first, and I can’t wait for the next installment in the Mathieu James series. If you're looking for a gripping thriller book review, you can't go wrong with this one!

It's so refreshing to read a well-paced action thriller that steadily immerses you as the plot unfolds. Matthew Fults' reflective writing allows you to grasp the complexities of the various agencies battling terrorism and hostile nations. A new author for me, and having had the opportunity to read *Messenger for the Dead* before its release, I hadn’t yet read the first book in this exciting series. However, there are plenty of references and mentions that provide enough context, so you don't fee...

Matthew Fults' *Messenger for the Dead* boils down the utter chaos of modern warfare into a must-read narrative—where drones, spies, terrorists, and journalists collide across overlapping frontlines, each wielding unique power in a conflict without borders. We're already itching for Book 3! This is a great read and a fantastic addition to your list of books to read. The book kicks off with an elite Norwegian special forces sniper, perched atop Oslo’s iconic Opera House, zeroing in on a mysterious...

Messenger for the Dead starts with a literal bang. One second, you're chasing a terrorist off a Scottish pier; the next, you’re caught in an international web stretching from Oslo to DC, Moscow to LA. If you're craving a high-stakes spy drama with serious Jack Ryan vibes, this one's definitely for you.
Aadan Mukhtaar is the world’s most wanted ghost, and no one knows if he’s actually dead or just faking it (again). As the world freaks out and allies mobilize, journalist Mathieu James and operat...

This was an exciting sophomore thriller, and I was lucky enough to get an advance copy and share my two cents in exchange for an honest review from the author, Matthew Fults, Severn River Publishing, and the team at Booksirens. I received a free advance review copy, and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
In his debut thriller, the author let readers uncover evidence of a fifth bomber/master organizer who helped plan and finance the July 7, 2005, terrorist attack in London. He also introduced ...

The quest rolls on! Matthew Fults's *Messenger for the Dead* is an intense, riveting, gripping, and raw read that just grabs you. The journey is packed with drama and action every step of the way. The utter suspense will have you on the edge of your seat, like it did me. Who's going to win this fight?? Good versus evil, as always, but the stakes feel so high! Absolutely unputdownable! Is it really over, though?? Nope! More drama to come. Hold on tight because *Messenger for the Dead* is a wild r...
