Historical fiction mashed up with physics and a religious conspiracy? James Rollins pulls it off, delivering a narrative as complex as it is wildly entertaining in "Map of Bones (Sigma Force, Book 2)". If you're looking for a thriller that'll keep you guessing and maybe even teach you something, look no further. Rollins delivers a knockout punch of adventure and intrigue. A must-read for fans of historical thrillers!

4.75 stars - ☘️☘️☘️ - A solid 4.75 stars - Dutch paperback - 🌹🌹🌹Quote from the book: "During that period, it would have been easy to build a secret chamber. The Vatican was largely deserted then. It only became the seat of papal power in 1377."Once again, a story full of action and mystery. Sigma operates under the protection of DARPA – an army division that researches and supports scientific inventions. Gary, along with Kat and Mink, get a new mission following an attack in Cologne. Father V...

Great book! I love James Rollins. He's like a cross between Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton. Right up my Star Trek/Indiana Jones alley!! I highly recommend his books to anyone who loves any of the aforementioned authors or movies. Basically anyone who is a geek like I am who enjoys a thrilling adventure. "Map of Bones (Sigma Force, Book 2)" by James Rollins is a must-read! If you're looking for exciting book reviews, definitely check this one out.

Map of Bones is the second book in the Sigma Force series by James Rollins. I read the first book and a few others in the genre before this one. The focus shifts from Painter Crowe to Grayson Pierce, though Painter's still around. Grayson's leading a team to stop the shadowy Guild from causing more chaos. This time, they've bombed a church, killing nearly 100 people, and stolen relics that might be the bones of the Magi, you know, the Three Wise Men. Some Vatican folks and the niece of a big sho...

Still my absolute favorite Sigma Force adventure! James Rollins masterfully blends science with history in "Map of Bones," and while it occasionally pushes the boundaries of believability, it's always wildly entertaining. More, please! Definitely one of the best adventure thriller books out there.

What a terrible, incredibly long dribble this is. Many people who've rated *Map of Bones* poorly have pointed out its many failings. The entire plot is absolutely ridiculous:You have an implausible group of so-called geniuses who also happen to be—supposedly—super agents, James Bond types. They put them through "fast track PhD programs" (what in the hell is that anyway? Who goes through a "fast track" PhD???) so they know anything about everything or something... and yet they are utterly incompet...

4.0 stars. The second book in the Sigma Force series, following *Sandstorm*, *Map of Bones* confirms this is shaping up to be a fantastic series. These books are incredibly quick reads, propelled by fast-paced and well-developed plots. But don't mistake "quick" for lacking substance; James Rollins is clearly a research nut, packing *Map of Bones* with fascinating details that he then uses to extrapolate some of the more "out there" plot elements. Think of it as "Tom Clancy" meets "Fringe" with a...

Map of Bones is an action-adventure yarn that blends ancient secret societies, à la Dan Brown, with other secret societies, in the vein of... well... Ian Fleming. Sigma is the good-guy crew here, led by Grayson Pierce, this book's version of 007, ably assisted by his trusted buddy, Monk, and the relatively new recruit, Kat. It kicks off with an opening action sequence that introduces the two antagonists. When a cathedral in Cologne is attacked by a group using strange technology, leaving everyon...

So, *Map of Bones* by James Rollins was my gateway drug to this series. I realized it was part of something bigger, so I dove into *Sandstorm* first, then circled back. Honestly, you could probably jump into *Map of Bones* without reading the first one. There aren't really any major spoilers; the previous book is more like background flavor to make the Sigma Force world feel real-ish. And let's be real, the Sigma Force world stretches believability. Rollins throws a ton of science at you, and a ...
