I read the first book in this series and found it to be an enjoyable, entertaining read. It felt a bit like The X-Files, a touch of James Rollins, and a dash of Tom Clancy. It left me wanting to pick up the next installment to see where the Event Group was headed. So, I did...Legend: An Event Group Thriller can be split into two distinct parts for me. It felt like a book written by one author or edited by one person, followed by a completely different author or editor. The first part sets the fo...

This series is just plain fun. Think of it as a blend of Tom Clancy’s tactical precision, the supernatural intrigue of The X-Files, and the adventurous spirit of The Librarians and Warehouse 13. If you are looking for a gripping page-turner, Legend: An Event Group Thriller by David L. Golemon is a must-read book review pick that perfectly balances high-stakes action with mystery.

Legend: An Event Group Thriller by David L. Golemon is a solid read. Think of it as a high-octane version of Congo, but with more military grit and dinosaurs thrown into the mix. If you are looking for a pulse-pounding action thriller, this book definitely delivers.

If you are a fan of the show Warehouse 13, these books will feel right at home on your shelf. The Event Group is a top-secret, government-sanctioned team operating out of an underground facility near Nellis Air Force Base. They are tasked with handling global threats that defy explanation—from extraterrestrials and Cold War-era Russian schemes to rogue time travelers. In Legend: An Event Group Thriller, the team faces a terrifying, legendary beast deep within the Amazon, an ancient threat that d...

The second installment in this fantastic series is a non-stop thrill ride from the very first page. The Event Group is a perfectly fitting name for this elite collection of the best and brightest soldiers, scientists, and specialists. As usual, the story kicks off long ago—specifically during the Spanish expansion into the New World. The Spaniards have enslaved an Incan civilization and are led on a quest for hidden treasure. (I’m not entirely sure if this is based on El Dorado or the so-called “...

Sometimes I really wish the author would hire someone to illustrate his vision as he writes these tales of species over a thousand years old. This series reminds me of the bizarre nature of Stephen King novels, and I usually avoid those because I struggle to visualize some of his concepts—my imagination just works differently. Or maybe I just prefer picture books? (chuckling).Regardless, this novel was a wild adventure, taking us deep into the Brazilian Amazon with its waterfalls, caves, lagoons...

I really tried to enjoy Legend: An Event Group Thriller. The first book in the series was genuinely great, and I was holding out hope for a repeat performance. Instead, this entry completely sidelined the group of missing people—who were caught up in a mystery I actually wanted to read about—and chose to focus on a relentless deluge of military equipment descriptions that felt like they dragged on for days. I’m still going to give the next book by David L. Golemon a chance, simply because the se...

Not up to par with the debut - 3 Stars Random Ramblings After being filled with excitement following the stellar first entry in the Event series, I was left a bit disappointed with this follow-up effort. Unfortunately, the issues I had with the story structure were even more apparent in Legend: An Event Group Thriller, showing little growth in the writing. It is my expectation that an author will improve upon their debut novel. In reality, this feels like a tale of two books. The first 50% w...

This time, they are up against people hunting for the lost treasure of El Dorado!I really can’t recommend Legend: An Event Group Thriller highly enough! I absolutely love this series. It is packed with non-stop action, gripping storylines, in-depth and well-researched history, and fantastic, highly relatable characters. As a woman, I espec...

Surprisingly, I found this second book a bit slower than the first one. I remember devouring the first installment in a flash, but this one... it took me quite a few more days to get through. That aside, the story remains intriguing, and I'm still hooked to see what happens next. It’s packed with action and adventure, featuring clear-cut heroes and villains. I’m already wondering where our group of scientists and friends will be sent in the next book to track down a dangerous weapon or rescue so...
