An easy 5 stars, but is anyone really surprised? S.A. Cosby’s *King of Ashes* delivers exactly what you expect - and somehow, even more. If you're looking for a gritty crime thriller that grabs you from page one, look no further. This one’s a knockout. This is my third S.A. Cosby book, and just like I expected, it was a total rollercoaster! Roman goes back to his hometown in Virginia to discover his brother Dante is tangled up with one of the local gangs. There were a couple of scenes in "King of Ashes" that made me feel actually sick... I'm talking about having to put the book down and scroll through TikTok to find old Vine videos to distract me and get my mind off things. And despite how dark some parts got, I felt like the ending was SO rus...

S.A. Cosby has done it again—and this time, King of Ashes scorches the soul. Each time I read one of his novels, I tell myself there’s no way he can top his last masterpiece. There has to be a limit to this kind of excellence. But then I turn the final page, slack-jawed and speechless, wondering how a book just grabbed my throat, twisted my heart, and left my brain spinning. King of Ashes is a ferocious, emotionally charged, gory, and deeply human story of broken family bonds, revenge, regret, a...

I know I'm in the minority here...For me, *King of Ashes* is a generous three-star read—and, honestly, my least favorite book by S.A. Cosby so far. The premise was incredibly intriguing, and I was excited to see it unfold. There’s family drama, secrets, gangs, money—all the ingredients for a gripping story.Cosby excels at atmosphere. He paints Jefferson Run as a town steeped in darkness and tension, and I really felt that. Certain scenes and chapters were absolutely gripping, and I appreciated t...

This author just can't miss. *King of Ashes* is action-packed from the first page, touching on a lot of themes, but at its heart, it's pure S.A. Cosby madness with his signature vivid writing. If you're looking for a gripping crime thriller, look no further.

This kinda gave me *Raising Kanan* vibes, you know, that *Power* spin-off? But set down South. And instead of mommy drug dealer problems, it's daddy issues. 😅 Full review coming soon – I really dug **King of Ashes** by S.A. Cosby. Thinking maybe 3.5 stars? This is a great crime thriller!I’ve been hearing so much hype about S.A. Cosby, so I've been dying to read one of his books for ages now – honestly, any of them! 😅 Spotted this audiobook available on NetGalley and thought I'd give it a shot!...

S.A. Cosby has delivered another thrilling, gripping, shocking, intense, and beautifully written book! He continues to amaze me with his lyrical and emotion-evoking writing. I like to call what he writes Southern Grit. It's gritty, raw, brutal, beautiful, and so very human. He shows us the best and the worst in his well-rounded characters. He doesn't shy away from violent scenes, just as he doesn't shy away from showing the vulnerability in his characters. Speaking of characters, that's what it'...
