DNF at 50%. I just couldn't bring myself to care about I'll Stop the World for You. Lauren Thoman's writing didn't grab me, and I found myself completely detached from the story. Not every book is a winner, and this one just didn't resonate with me. If you're looking for a book review that raves about I'll Stop the World for You, this isn't it.

"Time-Traveling" Mystery While I can appreciate the cleverness in Lauren Thoman's *I'll Stop the World for You*, I have to admit the pacing is a real drag. It takes forever to get to the heart of the story. Honestly, the characters didn't grab me; they felt way too sappy for my liking. The whole plot felt pretty out there, too. The main characters make some seriously questionable choices throughout *I'll Stop the World for You* – like, there were tons of other ways they could have handled thing...

I'm always blown away when an author can pull off time travel and absolutely nail it... and Lauren Thoman did! "I'll Stop the World for You" tackles a lot of sensitive topics that were relevant in the 80s, and honestly, still are today! It’s a YA novel, and even though times have changed, teenagers really haven't. In the present day, Justin Warren isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve, all while navigating tricky relationships with family and friends. The story centers around the suspici...

Okay, WOW. Seriously. Drop everything and go read I'll Stop the World for You. Do yourself a massive favor and DO NOT READ ANY PLOT SUMMARY. Skip the book description too. Just dive in knowing as little as possible. With that said... here are a few vague thoughts on the book, trying to avoid spoilers. What a stunning debut from Lauren Thoman. Heartfelt, thrilling, captivating, a total page-turner… I devoured it. I've been stuck in a reading slump lately, not really connecting with much of what I'v...

Okay, let's address the elephant in the room: this is YA, plain and simple. It needs to be labeled as such. If you pick up I'll Stop the World for You, like I did, expecting an adult mystery with a time travel twist, you might be a tad disappointed. Now, you know I'm not a YA kind of gal. BUTTTTT, I gotta admit, this was actually pretty good. Though it had the potential to be amazing. It's a 5-star story buried under a mountain of teenage angst that really holds it back. The setup is intricate...

YA Stephen King-liteReview of the Amazon First Reads Kindle eBook edition (March 1, 2023), released in advance of the official publication by Mindy’s Book Studio in hardcover/eBook/audio (April 1, 2023)There's absolutely nothing wrong with adults enjoying YA books; I've devoured plenty myself. I chose *I'll Stop the World for You* from the Amazon First Reads selections on March 1, 2023, because it was the "Mystery" pick (not a "YA" selection), and I noticed it was also the debut book from writer...

If you're looking for a time-travel story about teenagers in a small town, mixed with a bit of mystery, then Lauren Thoman's *I'll Stop the World for You* might be right up your street. This could be a good read if you enjoy young adult fiction with a speculative twist.Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I have to say, the writing is solid. It never felt like an amateur effort (which, let's be honest, happens sometimes these days). And some of the characters are interesting, dealing with issues tha...

I thought *I'll Stop the World for You* by Lauren Thoman had a clever premise, but honestly, it felt really drawn out and slow to get to the point. The characters didn't really grab me either; they seemed a little too saccharine for my taste. I was expecting this book to be way more exciting than it actually was. If you're looking for fast-paced YA romance, this might not be it, but it could be a good pick for readers who enjoy slower, character-driven stories. #bookreview #YAromance

I'm not usually one for physical books… but I. Could. Not. Put. This. Down. I loved every single page! I was completely swept away by the characters, the world, the story itself… wow. I devoured I'll Stop the World for You in two days flat and was utterly hooked. Seriously, I couldn't put it down. It completely took over my life for those two days, and I honestly wish I could experience reading Lauren Thoman's I'll Stop the World for You for the very first time all over again! If you're looking ...

I wrote "I'll Stop the World for You" so I’m a little biased, but I think it’s pretty good. 😊
