“It's the little mistakes that lead to big mistakes.” I Am Number Four was unexpectedly fun. John Smith, or Number Four, is my favorite character. I really loved his wits and the pace of this book; it's insanely fast that I didn't dare to breathe when something happened. Pittacus Lore slowly built up tension throughout I Am Number Four, and he abruptly released it at the right time. It worked so well for me that I gave it 5 stars without hesitation. Looking for a thrilling sci-fi read? This ...

I've removed my review (and all the comments).I got completely fed up with people leaving me long-winded comments about how I read too much realistic fiction (seriously?), how I can't appreciate something that's just a bit of fun and not overly intellectual (oh, do enlighten me!), and basically all the ways I'm supposedly too dense to appreciate this crap book.Sorry trolls folks, but my opinions are my own, and I still think *I Am Number Four* by Pittacus Lore was lame, badly written, unoriginal...

Rating Clarification: 4.5 StarsThere is always hope… Don’t give up hope just yet. It’s the last thing to go. When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. So when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.Wow! Just wow!! Have I ever loved an alien invasion this much?! This book was (no pun intended) OUT.OF.THIS.WORLD!Okay, it’s official… I’m an alien invasion fan, and all this business about invasions, them possibly living among us, alternate life forms out the...

This book, *I Am Number Four* by Pittacus Lore, is so bizarre and just plain bad, it’s hard to put my finger on exactly *why* I hate it. Honestly, a truly terrible read. Thank God this book didn't blow up like *Twilight*. At least I hope it didn’t, because I haven’t heard much about it since it came out. I couldn't even make it past chapter nine. It was unbelievably boring. I kept waiting for that spark that would make me want to continue. But nope, never happened. So, here's what went wrong, in ...

You absolutely have to switch your brain off and not ask any questions while reading this book. It's essential to enjoy it. I failed miserably. It might be readable, but I Am Number Four is predictable and clichéd, filled with inaccurate and vague descriptions and explanations. If you're looking for honest book reviews, this isn't a glowing one. For the most part, I Am Number Four is an easy read, although the language occasionally struck me as amateurish and clunky. Perhaps I expected too much,...

The language and phrasing are really simplistic, which wasn't necessarily bad, but the story itself just doesn't make any sense. It clumsily blends genres in a way that feels really forced. I get the feeling the concept for *I Am Number Four* by Pittacus Lore came before any characters or logic were worked out.*I Am Number Four* is about John Smith, a teenage boy who's secretly an alien from another planet. I'm going to break down some of the biggest problems with the story.1. John has a guardia...

The Mogadorian caught Number One in Malaysia,Number Two in England,And Number Three in Kenya. I am Number Four.I am next.Catchy, isn’t it?Unfortunately, the story itself isn’t quite as catchy. I was rather underwhelmed, to be honest. The plot was okay but somehow it only managed to hold my attention for about 10 minutes. After that, I found myself getting bored and my thoughts kept drifting off to random topics like "what’s for dinner" or "crap, I really need to iron that white blouse of mine". W...

Movie UpdateI already watched the movie, and honestly, it was better than the book. The romance was still super cheesy, but at least the dialogue was way better in the movie. Plus, the movie moved faster and had a ton of action at the end. The dog was seriously cute, and Number Six was awesome. Sam was also pretty likable in the film. After seeing Alex Pettyfer on screen for the first time, I have to say he deserves, and is totally fitted for, the Peeta Mellark and Jace Wayland roles.Alex P. Los...

I AM NUMBER FOUR is actually number four million if you consider the predecessors it's based upon. What does that mean? We've been here before. A bazillion times.Let's take stock: aliens on Earth disguised as Earthlings. In fact, your neighbor might be a Lorien (the "good guy" planet of concern here), and the haberdasher (way to blend in!) might be a Mogadorian (the "bad guy" aliens hunting Lorien-types to the death). Novel idea, huh?So our protagonist is on his 5,398th alias. It's (steady now) ...

Full review still in progress, but here's approximately the first half... pre-reading comments at the end.EDIT: Okay, I'm never going to finish this thing. Frankly, I don't care. But I added a list of things I was planning to put into it at the end.EDIT 2: Everyone who is even THINKING about reading this book should read this article: http://nymag.com/arts/books/features/... and find out exactly what you're dealing with and what you're supporting.Introduction: I Am The Fourth MatrixThere is a th...
