4 stars! (Rounding up from 3.75)I actually read *Forbidden Summer in Sicily* during the *worst* reading slump ever, and it was the first book in ages that truly grabbed me. Ali Hazelwood's writing style is absolutely perfect for breaking through a slump (100% confirmed!).I really liked Maya. I felt like we got to know her well, understanding why she behaves the way she does. I appreciated the flashbacks; they helped me understand her relationship with Conor and her feelings for him so much more....

My type of book…cute.
Ali Hazelwood speaks directly to my brain. They could never make me hate her or her books. Ali, get your Team Gale ass behind me IMMEDIATELY!! I will defend your honor and gladly take seven bullets in the chest for you, IDGAF!
Forbidden Summer in Sicily was summer heat but make it repressed tension and questionable decision-making. And can we talk about the actual romance?? It’s messy and painful and so stupidly hot. But underneath it all i...

3.5 stars! This was a fun summer read, definitely leaning into classic rom-com territory, which is honestly why I'm not rating it higher—it wasn't super memorable. I really enjoyed the two main characters (though Connor did get on my nerves a few times 😅). I also appreciated the way the age gap romance was handled! It was refreshing to see Connor so aware of the age difference and how it could affect their relationship. Plus, the setting of a wedding in Italy gave off amazing summer vibes! Over...

2 starsOkay, so I absolutely HATED this book.Honestly, I'm not even surprised. This is my third Ali Hazelwood book, and I wasn't crazy about Deep End or Bride either. But somehow, I came back for more. I thought maybe the third time would be the charm—age-gap, summer romance? Sure, why not? I figured it would yank me out of my reading slump with some easy, brainless fun. Nope. Wrong again. Still painfully disappointed.Let's start with the positives (there are a few). I'll give it this: it techni...

If thirsting after silver foxes is wrong, I don't wanna be right!(Okay, I've never *actually* thirsted after a silver fox, but I'm definitely ready to read about it)Real talk: This was seriously phenomenal. It's tough to dislike Ali Hazelwood's books when it honestly feels like she's writing them *just* for me. Pining, yearning, longing? You bet. A man who's, like, obsessed with you—not just your body, but the *idea* of you being his wife? YUP. Subtle character development, fun side characters, ...

This book is the perfect example of how NOT to write an age gap romance 😖I can’t believe how bad *Forbidden Summer in Sicily* turned out to be. It had some adorable scenes, but the whole age gap conversation got tiring pretty quickly. I also couldn’t feel the chemistry between Maya and Conor. This felt more like a sequel for Rue and Eli (might be my fault since I didn’t read *Not in Love*), but this has to be one of the worst age gap romances I've read in a while. I had to power through the las...
