Alright, buckle up for an unpopular opinion! Actually, scratch that – this isn't really a review. I'm just throwing out some quotes from **Fifty Shades Darker** by E.L. James, along with my thoughts on them! So, think of this as quote-reviewing (or maybe mocking, teasing, whatever floats your boat!). I always share my favorite quotes from books I reread for my Flashback Saturday posts. This time, I’m sharing the most hilariously awkward and entertaining quotes that reminded me exactly why I'm n...

A HUGE improvement compared to Fifty Shades of Grey! Still not AMAZING, but not bad at all. I honestly enjoyed reading Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James, and I'm looking forward to reading Fifty Shades Freed! If you're looking for a steamy romance novel, this sequel is definitely worth a read.

Another great book by E.L. James. I loved this book even more than the first!! "I don't want to fight with you, Anastasia. The wife picked up a paperback,...down at Tesco, Saturday.I peeked inside her bag;.......'Twas "Fifty Shades Darker" by E.L. James.Well, I just left her to it,And at ten, I went to bed.An hour later, she appeared; The sight filled me with dread…In her left, she held a rope; And in her right, a whip! She threw them down upon the floor,And then began to strip.Well, fifty years or so ago;I might have had a peek; But Mabel hasn't weathered well;..... She's eighty-four next week!!Watching Mabel bump and ...

Fifty Shades Darker is the second (and my favorite!) book in the Fifty Shades trilogy by E.L. James. I love seeing Christian start to truly come into his own in Fifty Shades Darker. His issues come to light, and he finally starts dealing with them. It's a fantastic read and one of my top recommendations for romance book reviews! Christian Grey… definitely one of my original book boyfriends. Not only is he a damaged man (which, admittedly, is my weakness), but he’s also incredibly sexy, ki...

Yep, I kept going with the series. Why, you ask? Why, when I so thoroughly loathed Fifty Shades of Grey, would I put myself through this? For the sheer fun of it, naturally! Bad writing tends to make me giddy because I'm way better at being a horribly judgmental person critic than I am at... well, just about anything else. Reading books this awful actually injects a weird kind of joy into my life. Plus, a few people told me they were dying to read my reviews of the second and third *Fifty* books...

2 Miserable StarsOkay, let's talk. There's a seriously messed-up theme running through *Fifty Shades Darker* that needs to be addressed: Ladies, despite what E.L. James wants you to believe, you are *not* going to magically transform your man's personality or cure his deeply ingrained sexual kinks in, like, five weeks. Seriously.I thought the first book in the *Fifty Shades* series was way too angsty and disturbing, but be careful what you wish for, I guess... In this sequel to the infamous BDSM...

Warning: Spoilers abound!!Actual rating: 1.5 starsHonestly, I didn’t read the whole of Fifty Shades Darker; I skimmed most of it and I still managed to get the gist. At least I saved myself the torture of reading about Ana’s constant inner monologue. I have to say that my review of the first book still largely stands. It’s ironic how someone with a name like Steele can’t stand her ground. At the end of the first book, Ana finally sees some sense and leaves Christian. Surprise surprise, that doesn...

I honestly wish Goodreads would let me give this book a sixth star. I never thought it possible, but Fifty Shades Darker is even better than Fifty Shades of Grey. Hard to believe, I know, but it's true. Reading Fifty Shades Darker reminded me of a quote I love by Alan Cohen: “Scared and sacred are spelled with the same letters. Awful proceeds from the same root word as awesome. Terrify and terrific. Every negative experience holds the seed of transformation.” Reading E.L. James' Fifty Shades Dar...

Updated 8/3/19:My tastes have seriously changed, and this gets no more than 3 Stars from me nearly eight years later.*******This is a bit crazy, but while I was lost in the pages of *Fifty Shades Darker* by E.L. James, I was actually doing some totally unrelated research online, and I stumbled across this quote. It completely nails Ana's love for Christian, and I swear, I got chills thinking about them. I also think it's spot-on for *every* relationship. You come to love not by finding the perfec...
