I really enjoyed reading "Echoes of '59" by John A. Heldt. It's a book for readers who appreciate stories about good-hearted people with loving families, mixed with a bit of intrigue, time travel, complicated romance, and some villains to root against. The story centers around two sisters and two brothers who meet and form connections. The catch? They're from different time periods, and each has loving families, friends, and established lives in their own world. The brothers from the past are gr...

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERSAs much as I love time travel stories, I always seem to have certain vague expectations, and they usually disappoint me in ways I can't quite put my finger on. I enjoyed **Echoes of '59** overall, but I was definitely disappointed with the mechanics and rather matter-of-fact introduction of the time travel element. I didn't realize this book by John A. Heldt was the fourth in a series, and I haven't read the previous three, so in fairness, all of that might have...

Echoes of '59 by John A. Heldt is a must-read for anyone who loves historical romances or just has a soft spot for the 50s. This book stands out from the other two books by Mr. Heldt that I've read. It's the first one I know of his that features four different main characters. Along with the four main characters, it also includes six different third-person point-of-view chapters scattered throughout the book. The primary character is Mary Beth McIntire. She's a twenty-two-year-old, soon-to-be me...

John A. Heldt's *Echoes of '59* is a delightful romance novel, the ideal companion for a cozy, rainy Sunday. It beautifully blends a love story with elements of time travel, all set against the backdrop of 1959, with just a touch of suspense, crime, and peril. This book is an easy read and captivated me from the very beginning. When I learned about the tragic death of Mary Beth's boyfriend in the opening pages, I never suspected that time travel would become a central theme. The characters fel...

Well, that was great! I was a little worried I wouldn’t like it because I always feel bad after giving a bad review… even if my last review of one of Mr. Heldt’s books wasn’t exactly bad, I had some bad things to say about the book. But I really enjoyed Echoes of '59 (as you know if you’re my mother and scolded me this morning for being up at two…). If you're looking for interesting historical fiction book reviews, keep reading! Their lives intersect when the eldest brother, Mark, discovers a time tunnel left behind by the house's previous owner. Mark Ryan steps into 2017 and surprises Mary Beth Mcentire, a young medical graduate visi...

5 out of 5 for this reader, folks!Okay, so I've been reviewing John Heldt's books for a while now, and I admit that when I start one of his books, he's already at a 5-star rating, simply because he ALWAYS delivers. Every time I review, I think, "My goodness, seriously, there has to be something I can pick at?" But nope, never is! This time is no different, and I struggle to find new ways to gush about John A. Heldt's writing. So instead of trying to find new ways to write an "OMG, I LOVED IT!" r...

Time travel – we've all had that moment when we wish we could go back and change something, or maybe head into the future to see what's happened. We don't really think it's possible, but for one curious college student from 1959, traveling through time to 2017 becomes the best trip he ever made. Welcome back into the world of romance and time travel as John A. Heldt once again breaches time to bring true love to two brothers and two sisters born decades apart, who were destined to be together in...
