I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this debut novel, Dreams Across Time by Nancy J. Price. If you can get past the somewhat bland title and the initially confusing pages, this book will reward you with hours of entertainment and a rich dive into San Francisco history. It's a perfect beach read for those interested in historical fiction!Time travel is a tricky subject to get right and make believable. Price solves the problem of impossible physical time travel by having her main character’...

I won 'Dreams Across Time' by Nancy J. Price through the Giveaways on Goodreads.com. What a lucky draw! How many adjectives does it take to properly describe a book? Because this one was truly amazing. The rich storytelling pulled me in from the very first sentence. Price writes like she's weaving a tapestry… except this tapestry moves through time. Any tiny snag or knot in the past creates ripples and changes in the future: some good, some bad, some insignificant, and some major. I've always lov...

Dreams Across Time Nancy J. Price Historical Romance/Time Travel 4.5 out of 5 Stars Every night, when Robin drifts off to sleep, she dreams of a woman's life in the Victorian era. Soon, she realizes it's not just a dream; she's truly slipping into San Francisco's past. Living two lives—one as a modern-day mom, the other as a proper young lady at the turn of the century—she discovers that *how* she's being sent back is only the first mystery. The much bigger question is *why* she's there. With...

I've always been drawn to time travel stories. I've often wished I could travel through time myself, and I love seeing the unique methods of time travel each author dreams up.Nancy J. Price's *Dreams Across Time* begins with a 21st-century divorced woman, self-employed, with two young children. She lives in Oakland and occasionally visits San Francisco. She starts having strange dreams and, over a few days, begins to feel like she's entering another time in San Francisco. I found the first 20% o...

This lovely book, Dreams Across Time by Nancy J. Price, was one of the most enjoyable reads I've had recently. If you're looking for great time travel books, this is a must-read!First of all, I don't think the cover does Dreams Across Time justice. It makes it look intimidatingly serious, and coupled with the long length, this put me off reading it for a while. But once I started, I was sucked into the fast-paced plot and immersed in a beautifully developed world. What sets Dreams Across Time apa...

Tell me a book involves time travel, and you’ve pretty much guaranteed I’ll read it. Naturally, my obsession also makes me hyper-aware of any title that even hints at temporal shenanigans. That’s how I stumbled upon this little gem on Netgalley (Thanks!).Robin is an amazing character! She's intense, courageous, resourceful, and utterly determined. Just thinking about everything she juggles makes me tired. Living one life is enough for me, but Robin lives two! She’s a super-woman. And she manages...

I genuinely loved reading "Dreams Across Time." Nancy J. Price has crafted a book that’s not only well-written but completely absorbing, with a truly engrossing storyline and characters you actually care about. What's really refreshing is how she sidesteps the usual time travel tropes, bringing in fresh and fascinating concepts. The way Nancy explores the protagonist existing in two different time periods is brilliantly done, developing themes and ideas that felt genuinely new to me. As far as t...

I received a copy of "Dreams Across Time" by Nancy J. Price as an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Time travel has to be one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I don't know what it is, but something about being swept back in time to another era just does it for me. I really wanted to love "Dreams Across Time", but in the end, I just felt like I wasn't able to become as involved with the story and characters as I would have liked. As far as time travel book reviews go, this ...

When people ask me what kind of books I like, I usually struggle to give a straight answer. Sometimes it depends on my mood, or maybe it's related to something happening in my life. I love history, and if I find a book that can transport me, I'm usually hooked. When I stumbled upon Dreams Across Time by Nancy J. Price, the cover immediately caught my eye. But what was *inside* really grabbed me. This is a time travel story, but not your typical one. The main character, Robin, finds herself trave...
