5 StarsWhen John gets fired from his job, he packs up his desk and heads for the door of his office building. His co-worker Liz opens the door for him, and they both walk through some kind of portal, ending up thousands of years in the past. When they discover green squirrels and, stranger still, green-striped saber-tooth tigers, they figure they must have been transported to an alternate prehistoric Earth. But when they meet the natives, their troubles *really* begin. "Doorway to September" was...

A fresh spin on time travel.

Overall, it was alright. The world-building was interesting, and the characters are well-developed. The survival elements are pretty well-considered. Overall, I'd give *Doorway to September* by R. Magnusholm a 3.5 out of 5, rounding it up. If you're looking for **time travel book reviews**, this one's worth a look.

Highly recommend! This book was REALLY well written, felt realistic, and was super interesting. There were 3 (short) sexy scenes that I think could have been even more glossed over, but they were brief enough, and the main part of "Doorway to September" by R. Magnusholm is so well written that... While they kind of broke up the flow of the story, it's not worth skipping the book for. Besides an engaging story, really great characters, and an empowering woman, the other great thing about "Doorway ...

Survivalist StoryFantasy Alternate Earth adult situationsThere are only a few brief sex scenes. Both characters readily accept that their old lives and families are gone. So, two humans end up in a parallel timeline. Jupiter being a star supports the idea of an alternate reality, specifically a far-future version of Earth. The fact that they're younger and in perfect health suggests an intelligence orchestrated their transit. Despite subsisting on meat, nuts, berries, and mushrooms, they thrive.Ho...

A truly unique storyI was really hoping this was book two, especially since the introduction mentions "book 1." Darn, darn, darn! This book, *Doorway to September* by R. Magnusholm, is absolutely brimming with a perfect plot and fantastic dialogue. Spot is definitely a new favorite character of mine. I don't have enough time for a long, extended review right now, but I highly recommend this entertaining and clever book if you're looking for a great time travel story! (Or maybe it's an alternate ...

This book, Doorway to September by R. Magnusholm, was a delight in every way I didn’t anticipate. The survival scenarios are incredibly believable, detailed, and exciting. The chemistry between the main characters is fantastic. And the portrayal of the alternate sentient species is both absolutely dangerous and hilariously funny – I won’t spoil the surprise by revealing what it is. But the leader's interactions and thoughts, as well as the group's reactions, are priceless. It's a time-travel adv...

Really hope there is a sequel

Loved this book! I know the author said he doesn't write sequels, but I'm hoping he'll make an exception for *Doorway to September*! I'm dying to know what happens when George gets older – is that really the end of humanity? And can John find some wolf puppies to raise? Great read and well worth the time and money spent! If you're looking for a great fantasy book review, definitely check out *Doorway to September* by R. Magnusholm.

A fantastic survival story, powerfully written

I really enjoyed how these two totally ordinary office workers are suddenly thrown into an incredibly extraordinary situation. The writing quality is top-notch. It genuinely feels like you're right there with them. Beautiful natural landscapes. Awesome action scenes. And a love that blossoms slowly between John and Liz.
