Agatha Christie's *Death on the Nile* is a classic for a reason. It's a perfectly constructed mystery, full of red herrings and suspicious characters, all set against the exotic backdrop of a Nile cruise. You know you're in for a treat from the very first page.
Hercule Poirot, of course, is at his brilliant best. His meticulous attention to detail and his almost unsettling ability to read people make him the perfect detective to unravel this complex web of secrets and lies. The plot ...

3.5⭐This book starts a little slow with the character introductions, but once everyone boards the SS. Karnak, the story really took off for me. *Death on the Nile* features heiress Linnet Ridgeway, her longtime friend Jacqueline de Bellefort, and fiancé Simon Doyle. Hercule Poirot is on vacation and taking the Nile cruise, along with many other secondary characters. I thought the mystery was well done, and I enjoy following Poirot's thought process, but I felt the reveal was a bit underwhelming....

One of Christie's best. And definitely one of my personal favorites. I just adore Poirot in this one. He's got such a soft spot for a woman in trouble, and of course, he's always a sucker for young love.In Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie, he manages to put his excellent matchmaking skills to such good use that you get not one but two weddings...and a funeral. Well. Actually more than one funeral, but I don't want to spoil too much for those of you who haven't read this book yet. It opens wit...

"Me, I work with my brains and am not ashamed of it."
Reading Agatha Christie is always such a treat. I know I'm in for a good time, so I clear out my schedule, put on my comfiest outfit, and settle in for a few hours of fun and cozy-murdering. And Death on the Nile sure delivers.Wealthy heiress Linnet Ridgeway has it all: beauty, charm, and money. And now she has love too, marrying the man of her dreams and starting their lives together with a honeymoon in Egypt. But this exotic trip to a fa...

YOU DIRTY RAT, YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT LAST PAGE!
Seriously, Agatha Christie, how dare you?! I just finished "Death on the Nile," and I'm reeling. I thought I had it all figured out, all the clues lined up, but that ending? Absolutely brilliant and utterly infuriating. This isn't just a book; it's an emotional rollercoaster disguised as a classic whodunit. If you're looking for a good mystery book to keep you guessing until the very end, pick up Agatha Christie’s "Death on the Nile." Just be prepa...

Throwback Saturday again, and I'm revisiting Agatha Christie's *Death on the Nile* – a book I devoured two decades ago as an homage to my younger, clueless self. The great thing is, it feels like reading it for the first time! I've forgotten so many details, characters, and even crucial plot points.
I remember watching the 1978 film adaptation with Peter Ustinov (a brilliant actor, though I still prefer Albert Finney's Poirot), Betty Davis, Angela Lansbury, and Mia Farrow. The casting was super...

4.5 stars"I like an audience, I must confess. I am vain, you see. I am puffed up with conceit. I like to say: ‘See how clever is Hercule Poirot!’"Well, this confession from the renowned detective may very well be true, but I admit it is one of the reasons I love him so! He also has integrity and class… and a really swell mustache! Reading Agatha Christie’s Poirot stories never fails to entertain and to comfort. Here where I live, we are bracing for a winter storm with heaps of snow and frigid te...

"’What a lot of enemies you must make, Linnet.’‘Enemies?’ Linnet looked surprised.Joanna nodded and helped herself to a cigarette.‘Enemies, my sweet. You’re so devastatingly efficient. And you’re so frightfully good at doing the right thing.’Linnet laughed.‘Why, I haven’t got an enemy in the world!’”
Linnet Doyle is on her honeymoon in Egypt with the husband she recently stole from one of her best friends. Not only is Linnet filthy rich, but also gorgeous, sophisticated, and charming. Some mi...

It's 1937, and Cairo is still considered a jewel of a city, rivaling Paris. The rich and famous flock there to enjoy the nightlife and cruise the Nile to see the pyramids. This is the backdrop for Dame Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile, starring Hercule Poirot. As in many of Poirot's cases, this mystery features a young heiress, multiple motives for murder, and criminals traveling under assumed names. All these facets add up to a fun, page-turning whodunit. If you love classic detective novels...

A friend spoiled *Death on the Nile* for me, so I wasn't surprised when the killer was revealed. I never spoke to that friend again... If you're looking for a classic mystery novel by Agatha Christie, just be careful who you talk to about *Death on the Nile*!
