I went into *Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, Book 1)* not expecting to like it. I'm not sure why, but Marissa Meyer's *Cinder* completely surprised me! Seriously, I was expecting a mediocre YA dystopian novel, but what I got was so much better. As far as fairytale retellings go, this one is top-notch.
