This one swung back and forth for me, teetering between 3 and 4 stars, before a somewhat anticlimactic ending settled it firmly in 3-star territory. I've read several of James Rollins' books and usually enjoy them immensely. *Bloodline (Sigma Force, Book 8)* is part of the Sigma Force series, which really benefits from being read in order, unlike how I approached it. Sigma Force is a team of mercenaries, ex-FBI agents, operating under the radar – think James Bond meets espionage – basically cal...

Reading Bloodline (Sigma Force, Book 8) was even better because I got to share it with nine of my friends from LibraryThing—our first group read in two long years! And what a gem we picked to restart our monthly reads! I've always loved the bonds between the members of Sigma, and the group keeps growing with the addition of Tucker, an ex-military man, and Kane, his military war dog. James Rollins always leaves you with some interesting questions at the end of his books, and he definitely hasn't ...

Real Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI devoured this book back in 2014, while I was holed up in what I affectionately called the 'goofy garage.' My wonderful friends kept me supplied with reading material, never questioning (at least, not to my face—who knows what they said behind my back!) my constant requests for James Rollins's books. Why Rollins? Because his stories are pure entertainment. They offer just the right amount of plot and character development to keep my mind occupied when I was stuck i...

Here's another fantastic book from an author who always has me glued to the pages from cover to cover in just a few days (or, let's be honest, hours!). There's just something about James Rollins' books that always thrills me and makes me eager to keep reading and reading and reading. In this latest novel, we're plunged back into the sinister world inhabited by the Sigma Force agents. All the familiar, fantastic characters are back, along with two new additions: a man named Tucker and his combat...

"Bloodline" is the eighth installment in James Rollins' Sigma Force series. Having devoured the previous books, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Centered around several operatives within the clandestine US government agency Sigma, this story delves deeper into a discovery made in the previous novel: the President's own family might be pulling the strings of the sinister organization known as The Guild. Could such a thing be true? The novel explodes into action when the President's pregnant daughte...

★★★½This book almost had me worried that the Sigma Force series was losing its edge, but a strong second half reminded me why I loved the earlier books. \"Bloodline\" delivers another entertaining dose of action and a compelling core plot.Once again, I desperately need half-stars.It's been a year since I last dove into this series. First off, \"Bloodline\" by James Rollins isn't your typical Sigma Force adventure. The books usually have certain hallmarks, especially a "mystique" element introduc...

Bloodline is the eighth book in the Sigma series. Though it’s the fifth one I've read. The story kicks off with a captivating plot and backstory. Right away, we see the hero holding someone in his gun's crosshairs. I won't say who; you'll have to read it. Immediately, you're hooked. What's the story? Why would the hero do this? Surely, someone is forcing him. How did it come to this? The first 50% flies by at lightning speed. No stopping. Every page compels you to turn to the next. What happens ne...

Bloodline By James RollinsThe best Sigma Force book yet! This is the latest in the Sigma Force series, and in my opinion, it's the best one so far. I'll admit, these books have a rhythm to them, so some surprises are somewhat "expected." That's common in series that go beyond five or six books, and it's true here too. Still great though!I did find myself wondering why, after so many books (each about a year apart in story time), Seichan and Gray still haven't gotten together. But the wonderful ro...

Just finished pulling an all-nighter because I simply couldn't put this book down. Sometimes sleep is overrated anyway, and when you find an amazing, edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller, you just *have* to finish it! In *Bloodline* by James Rollins, you're in for an action-packed roller coaster ride from the very beginning. Trying not to give away too much, this novel blends a little *DaVinci Code*, *National Treasure*, *Indiana Jones*, *Mission Impossible*, and a twisted bit of science fiction...
