Auryn Hadley's *Bioluminescent* is the fourth book of hers I've tried, and the first I've actually finished. And surprisingly, I loved it. I wasn’t expecting to love it; in fact, I thought it would be another DNF, and I almost did several times. I love interspecies alien romance. I love to see the couple struggle to learn about each other’s cultures, worlds, anatomies, etc. I love to see them overcome these differences and prove that love conquers all. I was uncomfortable with the way Tsij and M...

3.5 stars - Not a bad start. Bioluminescent suffers a bit from world-building issues, but that's somewhat expected. Auryn Hadley crafts some epic books, but their worlds often need a bit more explanation before the reader can fully grasp everything. I don't always dive into sci-fi, so a lot of the technical, scientific, and medical jargon felt a bit dry for me. Because of that, I mostly skimmed over the science-heavy parts. While the overall concept made sense, I'm not knowledgeable enough to ...

Loved the cover, loved the summary, didn't like anything else. This *Bioluminescent* book review by Auryn Hadley reflects a deep disappointment. The premise holds plenty of potential that is unfortunately never realized. From the very beginning, the main character appears more like a bored, bratty twelve-year-old than an actual adult, making any "sexy" encounters particularly awkward to read through. The male lead's sole character trait is "horny." I thought I'd be diving into an epic slow burn ...

My feelings for *Bioluminescent* by Auryn Hadley are probably skewed because I'm coming off a five-star read, but I'm at 40% and I just don't care.... The pacing is slow, and there's a lot of heavy political exposition. Maybe it's just too close to the current climate with the quarantine. Maybe it's because I'm seeing the main female character as a doormat? I don't know, but for whatever the reason, it boils down to the fact that I don't care how this novel ends, and therefore I'm choosing to DN...

If you're a fan of the Rise of the Iliri series, then Auryn Hadley's latest sci-fi romance, Bioluminescent, is an absolute must-read! Hailey starts out as your average, everyday barista, but her life takes an extraordinary turn when an alien spaceship crashes, thrusting her into a thrilling quest to help save the world. I absolutely adored Hailey! She's no trained warrior or soldier, yet she possesses an incredible fierceness in her convictions, always ready to stand up for what she believes in....

Aliens Crash LandI hate reviews that sound like they are written by obsessive fans, but I also want to tell the truth. Therefore this review sounds like it was written by an obsessive fan, sorry. I make no secret of my love for Auryn Hadley's writing, and of course, I bought Bioluminescent the day it released and devoured it as quickly as possible. I’m pretty sure I’ll be re-reading it many times in the future, because at the back of the book the author states that this is the first in a 6-book ...

REVIEW UPDATEDI want to give it more than 5 bloody stars! I was one of the lucky ones to receive an ARC! This book, damn, this book was so good. Once again, Auryn Hadley has outdone herself! Bioluminescent, what an amazing book! A Slow Burn RH. I have to say, this book, even just Book 1, I put it as high as the love I have for ROTI! Yes, it's *that* good in my eyes! I fell in love. Two worlds collide in this story: Earth (humans) and Chajek (Ghanek), or let's just call them simple Aliens. Hailey ...
