3.75 stars! I really, really enjoyed this mystery! The hook was fantastic, and the twist at the end? Incredible!! I never would have guessed it. Some parts in the middle felt a little repetitive, and the twist was maybe a *tiny* bit far-fetched, but overall, I loved "Beautiful Ugly" by Alice Feeney. So many bizarre, wild things happen that I couldn't explain (until the end, of course). Plus, the book grabbed me right away! In the first few chapters, the main character's wife goes missing, and th...

Wait WHAT just happened?! Alice Feeney's *Beautiful Ugly* just blew my mind. I'm sitting here trying to process everything I just read. If you're looking for a book review that gives away the plot, this isn't it. All I can say is, prepare yourself. This book is a twisty, turny rollercoaster that will leave you breathless. Seriously, WHAT just happened?!

This one's a bit of a slow-burn mystery – and I think those are tough to pull off because they don't always keep you glued to the edge of your seat. BUT Alice Feeney is seriously the queen of plot twists (she always gets me!), and I can definitely say she did it again with Beautiful Ugly! The entire book felt like it was building towards that surprise ending, and honestly, the main character was so frustrating to follow. Like, dude, he missed EVERY single sign! Anyway, I absolutely love Alic...

Instead of torturing me with 320 pages of laughable conflict, here’s how *Beautiful Ugly* should've gone:After a long day at work, Abby turned to her right side in bed as she heard her husband murmur, "I hope you die in your sleep." It was his way of saying, "I love you," and between you and me, she was fed up with it. So, she grabs the lamp near the bedside table and smashes it repeatedly on his head. Abby didn’t stop until she felt him go limp. Gracefully, she puts the lamp back in place and c...

Not only did this book make me never want to pick up another Alice Feeney novel again, but it genuinely made me question if I even like the thriller/mystery genre anymore. That's how much of an utter stinker *Beautiful Ugly* is. Seriously, what a disappointment. I was looking for a great thriller book review, and instead, I got this. The premise is cool, if not entirely original. A woman, Abby, goes missing under mysterious circumstances. Over a year later, her husband, Grady, is still struggling...

➳3/5 stars"There's no need to be afraid of the dead, it's the living that you have to watch out for.""Beautiful Ugly" was easily one of my most anticipated reads of 2025, and I was counting down the days until its release. I was beyond thrilled to receive an advance copy, and I want to sincerely thank NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me the opportunity to read it early in exchange for an honest review. Diving into this story ahead of time felt like a real treat!Alice Feeney has always be...

It's been years since I picked up an Alice Feeney book because the last one I read—*I Know Who You Are*—was so disappointing it completely turned me off. But she's built up a pretty impressive fanbase since then, enough to make me want to give her another shot. So, here we are. And I can now confidently say I should have stuck to my guns and avoided her books. *Beautiful Ugly* is simply one of those types of thrillers I just never enjoy, but for some reason, they're incredibly popular. You know...

Final review after desperately waiting for an ARC and then just buying my own copy 😂📚:Oh boy! For the first time after finishing a book, I’m really not sure how I feel about it. It started as a solid five-star read, hooking me right away with the intriguing mystery of a wife’s strange disappearance and Grady, the grieving husband who's lost everything—including his ability to write. He embarks on a journey to a remote Scottish island filled with bizarre female characters. I got even more inves...

Ugh. This just wasn't it. At least there's a dog. You're a good boy, Columbo. Honestly, the best part of Alice Feeney's *Beautiful Ugly*.
