This book isn't beautiful; it's a complete train wreck. Travis is a psycho, abusive, and suffocating. I can't believe garbage like this even gets published. Seriously, *Beautiful Disaster* by Jamie McGuire is just… wow. Not in a good way. If you're looking for a *book review* that's honest, here it is: skip this one.

Goodreads actually deleted my review. SO, I had to find my old blog and repost this since I heard \"Beautiful Disaster\" is becoming a movie….I haven't been this pissed off reading a book since *Bad Romeo*. *Beautiful Disaster* was a complete train wreck, managing to cram everything I hate in a book into one novel. My first issue with this book is the characters. Our leading lady is Abby Abernathy. Then there's our leading man, Travis Maddox. I can sum up my feelings for both of them at the same ...

Hold onto your hats, boys, and drop your panties, ladies!I give you: Travis 'Mad Dog' Maddox!"He made his entrance, shirtless, relaxed, and unaffected. The lean muscles stretched under his tattooed skin."Okay ladies, here we go. 1, 2, 3, and.... S.W.O.O.N!!"He oozed sex and rebelliousness with his buzzed, brown hair and tattooed forearms."Uh-oh boy!! Here go my ovaries!!
Ummm... QUESTION!!
Can I get pregnant from this?
Anyway....
Okay, now the storyline!!Abby Abernathy has a secret. She has ...

Psycho meets Mary Sue.Psycho abuses Mary Sue.Mary Sue loves him anyway. They marry. The end.
Okay, let's talk about Jamie McGuire's *Beautiful Disaster*. This book? Psycho meets Mary Sue. Psycho abuses Mary Sue. Mary Sue loves him anyway. They marry. The end. Honestly, that's the whole plot in a nutshell. Looking for a quick beach read? Maybe. A profound exploration of love? Definitely not. If you're into toxic relationships glorified, *Beautiful Disaster* might be your thing. Otherwise, proceed ...

I read this book on an 8-hour flight from London to Toronto. *Beautiful Disaster* and I spent 8 hours together, in coach seating, with nothing to do but surrender to the impossibility of escape. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, and this book caught me. It caught me like Slenderman in a dark forest.
I will proceed to chronicle my transition from literature enthusiast to broken shell of a woman below.

DELETED AND READDED BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD IT BURIEDBeautiful Disaster kicks off at night in the basement of an empty academic building on a college campus, the setting for a fighting/betting ring called The Circle. This is where we first meet Travis 'Mad Dog' Maddox, our male romantic lead. Naturally, he wins his fight. The female lead, Abby, is attending the fight club for the first time that night. She ends up with blood on her cashmere sweater and a new nickname courtesy of Travis, who doesn't ...

*Warning: If you're easily offended by cursing, and/or aggression, then don't FUCKING read this.*I am literally losing it. This book contains one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever read in any book. EVER.So here's one excerpt from the book. Abby slept with Travis and left his apartment in the morning without saying goodbye. This is his reaction, a few hours later : “Travis is a fucking wreck! He won’t talk to us, he’s trashed the apartment, threw the stereo across the room… Shep [roommate...

I'm really struggling to figure out what to say about *Beautiful Disaster* by Jamie McGuire. The reviews I read beforehand were SO misleading! The way everyone went on about the 'abuse,' I was expecting Travis to actually hit Abby, or at least come close. I get that the relationship was intense, but having witnessed real abuse firsthand, I didn't understand what made this book so much worse than others in people's eyes. Honestly, *Beautiful Disaster* is a story about an alpha male. Just because ...

Nope. Just can't do it. This book is just too awful. I've officially hit my limit for tolerating sheer stupidity. I need a break from books like Jamie McGuire's *Beautiful Disaster*. Seriously, I'm done.

5 stars, but with a HUGE caveat, and honestly the hardest review I’ve had to write.I’m genuinely conflicted about my reaction to *Beautiful Disaster* by Jamie McGuire. I not only enjoyed the story, but I’m giving it a high rating. In many ways, it embodies everything I usually hate in a Young Adult romance. Yet, I found myself completely engrossed, giddy, and head-over-heels, even when I was simultaneously annoyed. It felt like I was battling myself the entire time. My inner teenager, all starry...
