Note: I've been putting off writing this review since January (again). I'm slowly catching up, so my memory might be a little hazy depending on how long ago I read it and how much it stuck with me.
I only vaguely remember bits and pieces. Here are my notes:The rating is purely for the potential of the overall story, which could have been interesting if it had been executed better. The plot was practically non-existent except for the very beginning and the very end; the rest felt like...

Demonically BrilliantOne day, while Riley is walking through the forest, he stumbles upon an abandoned cart. Upon closer inspection, he discovers a gold coin inside. Intrigued, he climbs into the cart to take a better look, but just as he does, the cart closes, locking him inside and magically transporting him to a demonic land. There, he is immediately sold as a sex slave to a demon called Erebus, who suspiciously resembles Eren, his childhood imaginary fairy friend. Initially, Riley tries to r...

As Above (The Fallen, #1) by Julie Mannino: Dark Adult MM Erotica. Demons and Angels. BDSM. Slave/master. Single Third Person POV.If you're into dark MM demon/angel erotica fantasy with explicit kinky BDSM, master/slave relationships, a sex-based magic system, political and war intrigue full of power plays, and a likeable protagonist paired with a morally grey cast and society, you'll devour As Above (The Fallen, #1). To be clear, for me, it's four stars because I'm not usually into dark fantasy...

Okay, wow, this book goes *there*. Julie Mannino doesn't pull any punches with "As Above (The Fallen, #1)". The writing is seriously good, really pulls you in, and the suspense had me hooked till the early hours. Now, the relationship between the two leads is… complicated. It treads a fine line, and some scenes definitely push into non-consensual territory, which isn't usually my thing. I appreciate that Mannino handled those moments with care, though. Seriously, if you're thinking about picking...

Great
This is a fabulous story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not my usual genre, but I gave "As Above (The Fallen, #1)" by Julie Mannino a shot and was completely entertained. Great read; I certainly recommend it. If you're looking for good book reviews, check this one out!

I volunteer as tribute to be Eren's pet😜
Definitely a new favorite! This might be Julie Mannino's best book yet. Eren is just... I wanted to grab him by the throat and shake him for everything he put her through, but at the same time, I still totally love him. Riley was such an interesting character too, and they're both so well-developed and complex. The world-building? 👌 If you're looking for awesome paranormal romance books, give "As Above (The Fallen, #1)" a try!

This book yanked me right out of a terrible reading slump. I was hooked by the second page. Riley gets dragged to Hell City and discovers his old friend is... well, not who he thought he was.I adored the dynamic between these two characters, their witty back-and-forth, and even though it's dark, steamy, and kinky (which I'm totally into), there's just the right amount of humor sprinkled in to keep it balanced. The ending had me frantically checking my calendar because, holy cow, I did *not* see ...

I totally stayed up way too late reading **As Above (The Fallen, #1)** because I literally couldn't put it down, lol. Totally worth it, though. The little hints and clues sprinkled throughout, especially with the feather, had me hooked, man! I'm really looking forward to book two, and I definitely need more Eren.Actually, I think I might be even *more* excited for the second book because it looks like it's going to be a dual POV. I read the description, and it definitely seems that way. If you'r...

I'm already desperate for Book 2! Riley gets pulled into the demon world, and it turns out his old "imaginary friend" wasn't so imaginary after all. Except Eren (or Lord Erebus) doesn't remember him. They get off to a rocky start, but after I finished **As Above (The Fallen, #1)** by Julie Mannino, and sneaked a peek at the blurb for book 2, I totally get why. Eren is such a brilliantly devious character. You can tell he *could* be kind of nice, once you break through the ice, but there's defini...
