“It’s YOUR world.” A captivating mystery that blurs the lines of reality, asking what if we didn't have to truly lose our loved ones. In 1996 Chicago, Isaac André feels adrift until the world responds. The strange coincidences all seem to benefit him, for now. In the chatroom, The Grassy Knoll, he m...

So glad I finally got my hands on a copy of *An Old Soul*! I've been hearing great things, especially after reading my friend Arielle Winters' review – thanks for the heads up!

It sounds like something totally different, and I'm really looking forward to diving in. I especially love supporting debut authors. Just starting *An Old Soul* by M. Kevin Hayden today! Looking forward to sharing my own book review soon.

A captivating debut novel from a masterful breakout author, M. Kevin Hayden!Without giving too much away... Hayden has beautifully crafted this science fiction, romance, and philosophy tale within an impeccably imagined world, reminiscent of *The Matrix* or *Black Mirror*—but with a deliciously hefty dose of '90s nostalgia. This is a must-read for fans of speculative fiction and thought-provoking stories.Isaac and Noa, the star players in this fantastical tale, will draw you into their lives, th...

Wow! This is hands down the most unique book I've ever picked up!First off, it has a SOUNDTRACK! I've never in my life read a book that comes with its own soundtrack (and the songs are actually great!)The story itself is incredible! And while there were plenty of plot twists along the way, I absolutely did NOT see *that* one coming! It's an amazing story that kept me guessing from beginning to end!I would highly recommend *An Old Soul* for pretty much anyone who wants a good read, or anyone looki...

(ARC read. Thanks to NetGalley and Musw of The Moon Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.) *An Old Soul* by M. Kevin Hayden is a sweet and thoroughly enjoyable short romance, and a promising debut. The writing style is warm and inviting, and I absolutely loved the suggested music playlist—it really helped set the mood. If you're looking for great romance book reviews, this one is for you!My only critique is that the beginning was a little slow to get going.Overall, it's a charm...

This was an interesting read! Right from the start, I was thinking, "What's going on here?" The story's direction wasn't immediately clear, and while that made me a little uneasy at first, I ended up appreciating the ambiguity. It turned this book into a genuine mystery because I never really felt like I could confidently say, "I know exactly what's going to happen next." As I kept reading, the story really got my mind working. I was constantly trying to pick up on clues to figure things out, a...

Book Review: An Old Soul by M. Kevin HaydenM. Kevin Hayden’s An Old Soul is a contemplative and introspective debut novel that delves into existential questions of identity, purpose, and the search for meaning in an increasingly fragmented world. Blending elements of speculative fiction with literary introspection, Hayden crafts a narrative that is both philosophically rich and deeply personal, inviting readers to reflect on the nature of existence alongside its protagonist. If you're looking fo...

An Old Soul by M. Kevin Hayden Something feels off in Isaac’s life—that constant feeling of not quite fitting in, a childhood shrouded in uncertainty. But this is different; Isaac's an adult grappling with the sneaking suspicion that he was born in the wrong era. Chicago, 1996: Isaac should be out trying to pick up girls with his cousin in the summer heat. Should be…. Instead, he prefers painting, listening to jazz, and looking after his elderly grandmother. You might even call Isaac an introve...

Poetically captured, *An Old Soul* explores themes of existence, reality, and identity in a way that feels both intimate and mysterious. I really enjoyed the way the story opened—it immediately pulled me in with its atmospheric tone and sense of something deeper at play, but I felt that Books 3 and 4 could have been given more time to develop. The world M. Kevin Hayden created was so intriguing and full of unanswered questions, and while that ambiguity may be part of the novel’s charm, I was lef...

(Arc Review) 4.5 ⭐️ Isaac André has always felt like something’s off—his memories don’t quite stick, and the world seems full of strange coincidences that feel too intentional to ignore. It’s 1996 in Chicago, and while he's working at a VHS store, saving for a computer, and caring for his grandmother, reality begins to feel like it's unraveling.Things take a turn when he meets Noa Gayle in an internet chatroom. She's magnetic and oddly familiar, and their connection is instant! As they grow clos...
