Agatha makes coffee better, along with plenty of delightful little side stories. This installment of *Agatha Heterodyne and the Voice of the Castle* by Phil Foglio is a fantastic addition to the series. If you're looking for a fun adventure read, you've found it!

I guess on some level, the idea of a steampunk A.I. shouldn't shock me, but one running an entire 13th-century castle? That's next level. Plus, the traps totally gave me Doctor Who vibes, specifically a story called "The Five Doctors," where Rassilon's tomb has a trap you can only bypass by using pi correctly. Nerd alert!Still, the multiple battles for control of the castle and the city itself were fantastic, but the real gems were things like Agatha's take on a coffee maker, the impostor rockin...

Agatha Heterodyne and the Voice of the Castle delivers another thrilling adventure packed with humor, as Agatha Heterodyne sneaks into Mechanicsburg to seize control of her ancestral home. Of course, she can't resist a coffee break along the way, or a quick repair job to boost the espresso machine's efficiency. A word to the wise: if there's one thing more dangerous than a Spark, it's a caffeinated Spark! : )Meanwhile, Gilgamesh Wulfenbach is swamped, trying to shield his father, Baron Klaus Wul...

I actually started with the novelization of *Agatha Heterodyne and the Voice of the Castle* – you know, the words-only version. When I finally checked out the comics, I initially hated the art. I thought it was too cartoony, just plain silly, way too busy, and honestly, hard to figure out what was going on. But I’d enjoyed the novel version, so I skimmed through the first and second comic volumes, then jumped ahead to volume four. This series had already won three Hugo Awards, so I figured there...

I wasn't the biggest fan of volume 6 of this series, but Agatha Heterodyne and the Voice of the Castle marks a fine return to form, with lots of comedy and action driving a clear and engaging story. If you're looking for fun adventure books, this one is a great choice!

Everybody – and I mean *everybody* – is heading for Mechanicsburg. Pink is this season's color for airships. If you're looking for a fun steampunk adventure, check out Phil Foglio's *Agatha Heterodyne and the Voice of the Castle*! It's a wild ride.

REREAD 2019 It doesn't feel right to cut this down to 4/5 stars anymore. This volume is one of my favorites, despite Zola – that girl can just stuff it. I can't stand her and the politics behind her. We're introduced to the castle and Mechanicburg. I also really like how the art style changes in this volume. It's darker and grittier than earlier, and a lot more steampunky, which is *never* wrong. (Steampunk was how I found the series in the first place, after all.) If you're looking for a gr...

I'm telling you, this series just keeps hitting new heights, and I already thought it was pretty incredible four books ago. The artwork is phenomenal, Phil Foglio at his absolute funniest. The colors are simply breathtaking; Agatha's hair is almost TOO perfect, it's distracting how vibrant the color gradients are. And the writing is just superb. Agatha going completely bonkers on caffeine and rebuilding the coffee machine (with half the town's assistance) and the seneschal's reaction when he tri...
