Oh hey, Agatha isn't running around in her underwear the entire volume. Progress! It might have something to do with her Spark no longer being blocked, a sign of growth. This is the second time I've read *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine*. The writing is still sharp and witty. The art is great. It's very overly dramatic, as it's steampunk in the classic sense. You really should give *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine* a read; these stories are good. Don't mind that I bought this v...

I think this is about as far as I got the first time I tried reading it. There are some appealing characters, and the romance angle could be decent once these two actually get a chance to talk away from the political messes they're caught up in (which might never happen). What was losing me was the typical action-story stuff it shares with superhero movies: too many characters, constant wisecracks instead of real conversation, a load of backstory I couldn't care less about, and way too many fight...

Reread for the TFF readathon. I've read it multiple times already, but this is the first time I'm logging it.
Gil and Agatha really start to get to know each other in this one, and along the way, they fight monsters and, sometimes, each other. This is also, I believe, the first time we meet Ardsley Wooster, who is probably still my favorite Brit in the whole series.
It's always fun looking back at the early volumes of *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine*, because there's so much set up f...

Another quick and fun read with some revelations! Agatha is really coming into her own in Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine by Phil Foglio! Definitely a page-turner if you're looking for a good steampunk adventure book.

A lot of what was set up in the first book really pays off here, as Agatha finally stops second-guessing herself. She accepts that if she's causing chaos just by being alive, then, as she declares in the book's final line, "Let's go make some trouble."
I also cracked up at the explanation for Krosp, the genetically engineered cat who was meant to be "the emperor of all cats." Think about it: cats can go anywhere, they're practically invisible, and no one gives them a second thought. Imagine usi...

The romantic subplot thickens as sparks fly between Agatha Clay and Gilgamesh Wulfenbach in "Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine" by Phil Foglio. Things get even messier when Tryggvssen and Agatha’s parents unexpectedly arrive to rescue her, revealing shocking truths about their identities and Agatha’s hidden past. Understandably, all Agatha wants is to escape the Wulfenbach airship as quickly as possible.
Amidst this chaotic backdrop, Agatha grapples with a timeless dilemma faced by stron...

A massive improvement over the first two books! Agatha *finally* figures out what was painfully obvious from about page five of the first issue. It's a bit frustrating she didn't get it sooner, but then again, these books don't exactly portray women as masterminds. And all the arched-back, giant-boob poses are getting a little old (though at least there's less underwear on display in this issue). Still, "Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine" is an entertaining read. If you're looking for fun...

Finally! In Volume 3, Agatha *finally* learns she's a Heterodyne and a Spark. Seriously, girl. All this time… what did you think you were? I mean, really? Sometimes her innocence and ignorance are incredibly annoying. And then she does something SUPER AWESOME out of nowhere, and I'm not so annoyed for a little while. In *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine*, we keep meeting new characters and getting to know some old ones better. It's a great volume for developing relationships, and I think ...

In which Agatha learns a heck of a lot about herself, her cat, the problems of a too-fast romance, and the downsides of rescuing a hero. Fans of Phil Foglio's *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine* will not be disappointed. A must-read for steampunk adventure lovers!

Read at least twice.
This is the volume where stuff *really* hits the fan. I mean, seriously. If you're reading *Agatha Heterodyne and the Monster Engine* by Phil Foglio, buckle up, because this is where the story takes a wild turn. Definitely a must-read for fans of the series, and a great example of why these books are so addictive. Consider this your fair warning – things get intense!
