The adventures at the circus continue in Agatha Heterodyne and the Clockwork Princess. This is some very solid steampunk adventure. If you're looking for exciting book reviews, I highly recommend this one by Kaja Foglio.

A brief detour, a little side adventure on the winding path to absolute brilliance. Consider this a tasty appetizer before the main course of ingenious storytelling truly kicks in. Foglio's *Agatha Heterodyne and the Clockwork Princess* might not be the *biggest* step forward in the series, but it's still an incredibly fun read, perfect for a quick steampunk fantasy escape. For fans already hooked, it's more delightful world-building. For newcomers? A solid entry point, but maybe start at the be...

In this installment, Agatha embarks on a quest to rescue a damsel muse, and naturally, adventure follows. This is a steampunk pulp series, through and through. It's designed to be cartoony, fast-paced, and entertaining, complete with visually striking artwork. Forget gritty realism; this is pure escapist fantasy. It embraces silliness, and while I know some folks don't quite 'get' or appreciate that, I personally find it delightful.
If you're looking for a fun steampunk adventure, Kaja Foglio's...

Agatha's journey continues, drawing her into increasingly complex adventures, none more perilous than this. A performance with a traveling circus throws her into the path of someone from her mother's past, a clockwork princess, even more potential romantic interests, and what might be the greatest danger she—and the world—has ever faced.
A whole host of new characters arrive in this volume, bringing intrigue, potential romance, and fleshing out this alternate steampunk world in greater detail. ...

I actually started by reading the novelization of *Agatha Heterodyne and the Clockwork Princess* – you know, the version without pictures. When I went back to look at the comics, I initially hated the art. I thought it was too cartoony, silly, busy, and hard to follow what was going on. But I’d enjoyed the novelization, so I skimmed the first and second volumes of the comics, then skipped ahead to volume four. This series by Kaja Foglio had won three Hugo Awards, so I figured there *had* to be s...

I've never been a huge fan of this part of the story, to be honest. The first time I read it, it was fine, but on subsequent rereads, I really noticed how it completely shifted the story's direction.
It's good, no doubt, and I appreciate getting more details about the Spark, the different characters, and Agatha's family history. However, this volume is also where the Sturmavurs clan and all their associated scheming are introduced. This particular storyline continues to bug me thro...

This is the 5th volume in the *Girl Genius* series, and I’ve honestly been loving it. It’s such a fun read, packed with humor, and I really dig the strong steampunk vibe throughout. If you're looking for a great steampunk graphic novel, look no further!Agatha and Krosp (the Emperor of Cats!) are still on the road with Master Payne’s Circus of Adventure. Now the Jagers have joined the circus too, and they're awesome, always spoiling for a fight. But during one of their shows, someone recognizes A...

Life on the road with Master Payne’s Circus of Adventure has been anything but dull. Gil Wulfenbach and his family are under the impression she's dead, which keeps her safe from them—at least for now. The thrills and laughs keep coming as three rescued Jägers become part of the circus.Jägers are kind of like Klingons, only they have even less common sense (and that’s really saying something). They live for a good fight, and if they can’t find one, they’ll start one themselves. This cranks up the...
