It's been a minute since I last dove into *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City*. I stumbled across this copy in my local comic shop's bargain bin, and honestly, I'm baffled why it was there. The story is fantastic, totally original, and boasts a brilliant female protagonist. The world-building is top-notch steampunk – it's not quite our world, although they playfully sprinkle in familiar names and places. All in all, *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City* by Phil Foglio is a truly wonderful...

Recommendation: *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City* is still just as wonderfully whimsical as a 19th-century mad scientist comic, only now in vivid color and with a lot more world and character development than in volume 1. If you're looking for a great steampunk graphic novel series, start here!
Critique: There's full color this time, but the artwork still shows that it's an early web comic from 19 years ago. While it just keeps getting better and better, if you're going back to these ear...

More delightfully absurd fun from this series! I'm itching to jump into book #3. I've noticed that both the male and female characters are sexualized, which isn't surprising considering the Foglios' history writing adult comics. Agatha's "yech" reaction to the Baron's artificial children felt a bit off – hopefully, it's just directed at the adorable, albeit probably annoying, mimmoth and not meant to be homophobic. Some readers have complained about the coloring in volumes 1 and 2, but I'd sugge...

Phil Foglio's *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City* is a rip-roaring steampunk adventure that just begs to be devoured in one sitting. If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced read with a healthy dose of mad science and derring-do, look no further. This book delivers exactly what it promises: pure, unadulterated escapism. The world-building is imaginative and the characters are quirky and endearing. While the plot can be a little convoluted at times, it never loses its sense of fun....

Agatha, now free from the restrictions that sheltered her during childhood, finds herself caught between being the punchline in comedic situations and rediscovering her inner spark. Considering the series' title, Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City, her true identity shouldn't come as a shock to anyone reading. It's both amusing and poignant to witness her frustration and joy as she's finally taken seriously as an inventor. A truly fun read for those seeking thrilling adventure books!

This second volume of *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City* is a solid read, carrying over most of the strengths and weaknesses from the first. Once again, the artwork is fantastic, even better than the first book since it's in full color. The plot continues to be engaging as well. However, each graphic novel so far feels like just one hour-long episode of a TV show. It's satisfying... but it just doesn't feel like enough. (I suspect this might be a deliberate sales strategy, but I only have ...

Bursting with intelligence, humor, mad science, characters you'll genuinely root for, and Girls Who Do Things. Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City by Phil Foglio is an absolute must-read for graphic novel enthusiasts. A top-tier comic book review!

In the second book of the *Girl Genius* series, *Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City*, we get a deeper dive into Baron Wulfenstein's empire. Agatha and Gilgamesh, the Baron's only son, become better acquainted. And at the end, we're introduced to an unexpected character who's clearly going to be a major player in Agatha's story. This volume also includes a classic Heterodyne Bros. adventure, *The Heterodyne Boys and the Dragon King of Mars.*The artwork takes a noticeable turn with the move to...

Agatha and all the other 'teenagers' in that dorm? Really? Hmm.
I'm not really feeling the coloring choices in this volume. Not a deal-breaker, though—it doesn't hide all the charming little background details in the artwork, and that's the main thing.
