This is a fun read!

I have enjoyed both the first two books very much. The characters are very relatable, and the action scenes are great. I'd recommend this series to anyone who enjoyed *Action Figures: Black Magic Women*, or *The Avengers*. If you're looking for a thrilling superhero book, this is a great choice.

Just as good as the first book, maybe even better, even though it's a bit shorter. I'm also reading *The King in Yellow* right now, and it suddenly hit me that Kingsport, MA, is totally fictional, dreamed up by H.P. Lovecraft—who gets some other nods in *Action Figures: Black Magic Women*, too. Nicely done, Michael C. Bailey. Nicely done. If you're looking for a fun urban fantasy book review, check this one out.

Michael Bailey has turned me into a total fanboy with just two books in this series. Seriously hooked!I'm a sucker for comic book stories, superhero tales, and YA fiction, so *Action Figures: Black Magic Women*, just like the first book, hits all the right notes for me.Mr. Bailey, if you ever see this: I've read tons of books with amazing female leads, but Carrie has rocketed into my Top Ten of All Time. And trust me, Missy is a close second – I absolutely love Missy. These two, along with their...

A fantastic follow-up to the first book! I really enjoyed the introduction of new characters and the more profound relationships that developed between the individuals and the teams in *Action Figures: Black Magic Women* by Michael C. Bailey. Definitely recommend this for fans of action-packed superhero books!

Okay, so "Issue One"... hold on, gotta tackle this first. What's with the "Issue" thing? I get that it's a superhero book, but still, it's a *book*. None of these are like comic book issues. They're more like a collected edition or a graphic novel. I mean, issues are usually, like, 26 to 32 pages long and tend to be fragments – bits and pieces of a bigger story (though not always). This book, and the previous one, are more than just fragments. They're not the *whole* story of someone's life from...

Another fantastic adventure with the Hero Squad! I'm completely hooked on the way Michael C. Bailey explores the line between science and magic, and the suggestion that maybe there isn't one at all. The character dynamics are brilliant, and it's great to see the team evolving. I'm a bit concerned about Matt, though (who I definitely relate to the most). He consistently gets the raw end of the deal, and even though he's clearly got incredible magical abilities, a sharp mind, and ambitious goals, ...

If you've read the first book, you already know Carrie and the team, so I won't rehash that here. If you haven't, seriously, go read book one, then come back and see what I think. Instead of diving into the plot (which is totally satisfying), I want to talk about Bailey's style in *Action Figures: Black Magic Women*.Michael Bailey keeps the momentum rolling from the first book, no problem. The story clips along at a great pace, and the character development is still detailed and spot-on. It feel...

A fantastic follow-up! Carrie and her friends continue to grow, both as people and as superheroes. I especially loved the introduction of magic into their world, and seeing how it interacts with the technology already established. I can't wait to read the rest of the *Action Figures: Black Magic Women* series by Michael C. Bailey! A must-read for superhero book lovers.

Another winner—grab it if you enjoyed the first book in the series. Honestly, the plot summary on Amazon didn't totally grab me, but I decided to buy *Action Figures: Black Magic Women* by Michael C. Bailey anyway because the first book was so good. Luckily, this second installment is just as entertaining, and now I'm eagerly waiting for the third! If you're looking for awesome urban fantasy book reviews, look no further.

I devoured *Action Figures: Black Magic Women* after loving *Action Figures—Issue One: Secret Origins* when it first dropped, so my expectations were high for this sequel. Sequels can be a real letdown, but Michael C. Bailey absolutely nailed it – this one’s just as gripping as the first. *Action Figures: Black Magic Women* throws us right back into the Hero Squad's world, this time with a magical twist as they battle super-villains wielding dark arts. The clash between science and magic is bril...
