Jodi Taylor is the internationally bestselling author of the Chronicles of St Mary's series, the story of a bunch of disaster prone individuals who investigate major historical events in contemporary time. Ad-hoc Series Read 2024Another book devoured during stolen moments with the grandkids in Zurich. Gotta de-stress somehow, right?!Just when Max thinks she's finally in the clear, BAM! Danger strikes again. Thus kicks off a wild goose chase across millennia, with Leon doing everything humanly possible to shield her. From dodging fiery Vesuvius to ancient Egypt and a Frost Fair on the Thames that nearly goes belly-up, Max and Leon barely manage to evade capture. But all this time-hopping mayhem is ...

I was on the fence about the first three books in this series.
On one hand, I loved all the history stuff and visiting different moments in time to see what it was really like. On the other hand, the drama llama always reared its ugly head in the relationship department, and Max and Leon just couldn't get their act together emotionally long enough to have a grown-up conversation. Then there were the shenanigans at the end of book three that I both liked and hated. It was all a bit confusing....

4.5 stars. This series truly is a gem! Presumably, if you've made it this far, you already agree with me—otherwise, why would you still be reading? The first half felt a little repetitive, and I was starting to wonder if Jodi Taylor was losing her touch... but THEN it all took off! I love the camaraderie, the characters of St. Mary's, even Isabella Barclay—the one we love to hate! But most of all—Maxwell and her irrepressible personality. I even love the frustration I feel as a reader each time ...

I can't praise this book series enough. Even when Jodi Taylor turns everything we know on its side and upside down and backwards and shakes it all up, these books are still well-written, fun, sexy, exciting, action-packed, and adventurous. "A Trail Through Time (The Chronicles of St. Mary's, #4)" is quickly worming its way up into my favorites list. :)

Hook, line, and sinker. This series has it all: historical adventure and quicksilver wit. But more importantly, it's stuffed to the gills with great characters who are constantly shifting and changing. Like quicksand, we step into their lives at our peril, only to lose ourselves more as we struggle against them.Am I happier after the roller coaster that was the previous novel? Yes. Absolutely. I was given a little breathing space by how this had turned into a novel of a chase through time, and it...

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Another wonderful jaunt through history with the formidable St Mary’s crew. This time we find Max alone, vulnerable, injured, and scared as she hurtles through time trying to outrun the menacing Time Police. Thwarted at every turn, she must reunite a fractured St Mary’s to fight the ultimate battle to save the future as we know it. I feel like this is a big turning point in the stories here, and the first definitive move away from ...

This book delivers the familiar blend of time travel, quirky humor, tomfoolery, fun, adventure, romance, sex, unexpected plot twists, run-ins with adversaries, tea, and danger that defines the entire Chronicles of St. Mary's series. If you're looking for a fun time travel book review, look no further than Jodi Taylor's work! This installment, "A Trail Through Time", started a bit slow. I even wondered if I was growing tired of the series. But nope. As always, I finished the book completely charmed...

Okay, second time reading *A Trail Through Time*, and I absolutely loved it! Upping my rating to ***4.75 stars*** this time around.First read: ***4.25 stars***This was a buddy read with the Wednesday UF group @ BB&B!St Mary’s 2.0 and Leon 2.0... Seriously, the whole world is 2.0, and only Max is the original version, feeling totally confused and lost in this same, yet completely different, world. Mrs. Partridge has some serious nerve putting our favorite neurotic historian through all this. ...

*takes a deep breath*Phew, we made it! And you know what? Especially compared to the last one, this was EASY! Of course, it was a race at breakneck speed, and we got an epic battle as well, but overall, it was more humorous, and the happenings were more lighthearted than in the previous books. Which is to say: no further MC died! Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if Jodi Taylor had the guts to kill off Leon AGAIN, but I was happy beyond belief that she didn't! Of course, that makes me all...

Okay, seriously, someone – like maybe the BBC, since they're wrapping up Doctor Who, or even Netflix – needs to snap up these books and make a TV show out of them. Forget telling Goodreads and Jodi Taylor how utterly fantastic *A Trail Through Time* is; let's get down to business. Who should play Max? Ooh, how about Sophie Turner? Or Leon? Mrs. Partridge? Dr. Bairstow? I know, I know, *Game of Thrones* and *Outlander* took ages to get adapted, but I don't want to wait that long! Seriously! Huge ...
