I received an Audible version of "A Knight to Claim My Own (The MacLarens, #2)" as a gift from the author via Story Origin. The narrator employed a very strong Scottish accent, which took a little getting used to, particularly her male voices. There were a few instances where I struggled to understand what she was saying, but she definitely poured a lot of feeling and excitement into the story.
Lynette and Ian's story was very entertaining. It really captured the rough, tough, and violent times...

Audiobook review: This was my first foray into Sherry Ewing's world, and let me tell you, it definitely won't be my last! "A Knight to Claim My Own (The MacLarens, #2)" kept me utterly hooked with its thrilling plot twists and turns. Lynet is a fantastic character – independent, sassy, and quick-witted. Her snarky comebacks had me laughing out loud. And Ian MacGillivray? Swoon! He's everything you could possibly want in a Highland hero. I was completely invested in their dangerous and passionate...

This is Lynet and Ian's story. The last time Ian saw Lynet, he was a soldier. She was in love with him, but her father considered him too low-ranking to be a suitable match. Now, Ian is Laird of Urquhart Castle. He's determined to marry Lynet, if he can win the tournament. I found the premise of "A Knight to Claim My Own (The MacLarens, #2)" by Sherry Ewing to be interesting. The writing is solid, and the characters are well-developed. However, I didn't fully connect with the story; it didn't qu...

The more stubborn they are, the harder they fall. It was highly entertaining watching Ian, who insisted he didn't need any wench and spurned them all, finally realize that he did, in fact, need a bride... and, naturally, Lynet then wants nothing to do with him. To further complicate things, others also desire her, and he finds her missing every time he turns around. Life in the 12th century is no walk in the park, and protecting your possessions—both property and the people who depend on you—is ...

Okay! This book had all the right ingredients. A solid plot and well-developed characters.
Problem: I just couldn't fully immerse myself in the story. Even though the writing was good, I didn't feel connected to the narrative. As far as historical romance book reviews go, this one is tough because while technically sound, **A Knight to Claim My Own (The MacLarens, #2) by Sherry Ewing** just didn't click for me.
