Last day of holidays so I got to burn through some books. Well, graphic novels for my kids that they got, but that I too enjoy.
Nate did not disappoint, although I did want more of the gerbil than the few panels we got. The gerbil had the best lines in the last edition.
Not much to say other than that if you have read any of these, you're not going to be disappointed but don't expect the characters to have changed much or for Nate to suddenly age ....

Fun, Great Characters, Laugh Out Loud Antics…The thrilling next installment in the enormously popular Big Nate series. You’ve got to know where you stand to survive sixth grade, and Nate Wright’s found the perfect spot: right next to Sherman, the class gerbil. Can Nate’s furry friend bail him out of his latest homework jam with Mrs. Godfrey? Or will there be a paper trail leading straight to detention? Nate has no answers, but plenty of ideas—like directing a superhero movie starring the amazing ...

It's hard to dislike a character as witty and full of lighthearted self-aggrandizement as Nate and a strip as full of fun and smart supporting castmembers. That said, it's been years since I've read Big Nate, and not much of anything has changed in that time; Nate has been a middle schooler since 1991 (and will be forever?). The realities of the newspaper strip, where characters and joke tropes stay essentially the same forever make the exceptions (Gasoline Alley and Doonesbury for starters) not...

A funny and ornery Nate in the life of a 6th grader. A comical layout that is comical in contend. A short spiel on the actual gerbil and I was beginning to wonder if there was gerbil. But forget about the gerbil, I forgot what drama there is in 6th grade. You have your favorite teachers and then you have those that know your number. You have the boy that seems to have it all and then you have Nate.Nate is prankster so if you don't want your sixth grader getting any ideals, you might want to read...

Full disclosure: I request the Big Nate titles from Netgalley because my 11 year-old really enjoys them. To me, they're inoffensive in the same vein as the classic Snoopy comic books. I read them, and they're pleasant, but they don't really resonate with me. That said, I am not the demographic for these comics. Here's a conversation I had with said 11 year-old about this latest Big Nate offering:Me: So what did you think?E: I really enjoyed it. I think Big Nate is funny.Me: What did you like bes...

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest reviewBig Nate is back! With more pranks, excuses and more fun! I loved reading this, it gave me such a nostalgic feel for some reason. It was a super quick read and I enjoyed it so much. The srt style is very easily readable which makes it very fun and keeps you going. The dialogue is very basic since it's a comic aimed at younger viewers and all the textbubbles are nicely readable so you don't have to guess what any...

This is the first time I have to 'create' a book in Goodreads because I got an advanced reader copy from Netgalley and could not find the book to add my reviews too.
