This was a refreshing world to sink into with a cup of coffee in the morning. The characters are charming. The story remains smooth and interesting the whole way through.

A wonderful story about a Princess in Roman times. Varina, real name is Gwenwhyfar. Her fate was decided at birth and was promised to, Petronius a Roman. They married and life did not happen as it was supposed to. Petronius dies and that is the beginning of the story of two men who fall in love with Gwenwhyfar.We have always wondered about Atlantis, was this a real place, is it just a fable? I was able to read a preview of this book while it was in the final stages of production, and I gotta say, I absolutely loved it!

I'm a picky reader in general, especially when it comes to historic fiction. But Mrs. McKeithen certainly did her research, and the Classical Era was skillfully-depicted. The characters, too, were well-rounded and likeable, and the setting descriptions were just lovely.

Looking forward to reading the sequel!
