I am not an addict and I have no experience of being close to anyone who is, but I think this book should be read by everyone regardless of personal circumstance. It is aimed at helping addicts/recovering addicts to see that there is always hope. There is always help, and there is always a way forward to a better life, for those that want it. Such an inspirational man, who talks openly and honestly about his battle with addiction. He is dedicated to helping others and I take my hat off to him. F...

Tried really hard to get into this book but only got around 1/3 through it and couldn’t read any more. Each chapter just felt like he was repeating himself over and over again. I note this is clearly a big hit for readers but definitely wasn’t for me unfortunately.

In this excellent book, the author describes his own battle with addiction and how he hit bottom and rose back up again. He describes addiction itself and how it will rob you of everything dear in life, and then try to take your life as well. He outlines his process to recovery in order to help others that struggle with with this as well. The process is well explained and easy to understand. Most importantly, he talks of the continuing battle even after recovery. There are also true stories from...

I don’t even know where to start, this book was eye-opening. I am not in any means an addict, to anything (other than books! :)) However, I know the journey is long and very difficult with many obstacles. I think it is admirable that JR Weaver has written about his journey, documented it for himself and others to see that although it seems impossible to change your life around… if you are persistent and determined, you will be able to do it. I loved the personal touches of quotes from JR Weaver,...

The life journey of JR Weaver is an inspirational read for those who are looking for motivation to overcome their drug addiction. The author encompasses all his abusive, demonic thoughts during his twenty-seven years of drug addiction, and he narrates how he slew the demons to find himself while opening up a new avenue of his life. Of course, it is a challenging task, yet anyone can achieve it if they realize how drugs take over life. Weaver used a conversational writing style to convince the ne...

Wholeheartedly recommended. The book The Addiction Manifesto by army veteran Jerry Weaver is an excellent read. JR weaver is frank and straightforward in sharing his experiences and feelings as a drug addict for 20 years. He took help from various organisations like AA, NA, and CA, which helped to rebuild his life. Even Fitness workouts, Reiki, Recovery Yoga and Positive Thinking made a lot of difference.JR Weaver has written this book to show people that addiction is a serious disease. He hopes ...

I have been following JR Weaver on twitter since sometime and I had already pre ordered his book, and I must say I could relate so much personally. I have an elder brother who had battled alcoholism and drug abuse, he was even caught during his college days selling it. Was the worst time for our family. But he went to the centre and discovered his own journey to his recovery and now is the most responsible and caring brother one could have. He recently got hitched too!I think in the end its abou...
