The first part of this book read like a term paper for high school or college. It kept referencing different unnamed experts about their opinions of business strategies. The first part of the book lacked substance. The later part of the book read much differently and was less difficult of a read to slog through. It seemed as through there were two different authors because the tone and writing style was so different between the first part of the book than the second half. This book fell short of...

This was quite a surprising read. I have never previously given much thought to either the military or business and this book opened my eyes to these subjects and to their distinct overlaps. For example, consider an everyday term such as ‘price war’. The author writes in an engaging, no-frills way, giving real-life examples from war and well-known household name businesses. He utilises the ancient teachings of Sun Tzu, a Chinese military strategist, starting with the essential principles of ‘kno...

A book that can help you into your business if you want to start up or just needs some problem solving.
It has a lot of different views of comparing military with business and combine them.
It is about how to know what you have, want or can give to others. And to know your business partners.
Friend and enemy in military terms.
As a business woman myself I liked the strategies the book have which are possible to use in your company and business plan. A very useful book with useable strategies.

An interesting & unique approach to business.MD White takes us on a unique adventure through historical and world famous war strategy texts and teaches you how to take advantage of said strategies for both professional and personal uses. This interesting guide defines terms, lays down models and walks you through the strategies that can be found in such books as The Art of War. The things discussed in this book are very straightforward and analytical. Though technical in its content, any lay...

Well, I am going to have to be honest in this review. When I found out that this book was associated with the military, I got nervous all over because I for one am not a person you’d expect to have anything to do with that part of the U.S. government. But since this was mandatory, I decided to give it a try and give it my most non-pretentious reaction/recommendation afterwards. And there are highs and lows about it but let me remind you this is because I am biased. So I will forget the negatives...

While going into business is like going into war might sound from its onset to be quite a ludicrous remark for anyone to make, there’s a lot of truth behind it which needs to be examined before actually poo-pooing the notion.Any military tactician worth his weight will tell you can’t even begin to engage your enemy unless you’ve become familiar with what his status is in regards what he’s ready to throw into your path so you don’t become victorious in the goals you’ve set in front of you. Being ...

When I received this book, I thought it would be a good choice and time to share, read and review this. With the World the way it is today, economically everything is changing. And the Military and their families can use all the help that we can get and give to them, and not just from the Military's point of view. Therefore, I found this insight something that needed shared for many reasons.Mr. White wrote this insightful, educational, and enlightening book not just because he felt that it would...

I loved the influence of Military Strategies to Business, if had this book ten years ago my business journey would have been so much easier and less frightening. It is a very exciting book and clears the mind of any fear of the future and what to do next, you feel your confidence grow with every page you turn, hearing the inner voices go from I can't do this, to I can do this, to I want to do this to, I am doing it, I have taken the first step. Wow, I am on my way :)If you already own a business,...

For the first time there is a book on business that a military person can understand! This book is clear and concise in drawing parallels between going to war, and starting up a new business. This is clearly defined by using Sun Tzu's Art of War and good business strategies. The parallels are amazingly similar in both war and business, and certainly not to be overlooked. For the first time in fifty years, I understood what the Author was writing about! It is fascinating how the right words can o...
