Ewwwwwww. One of the 4 brothers is planning on marrying their younger sister Betsy. Granted she is an adopted sister but she was adopted as an infant and raised with her 4 brothers. Everyone acts like this is normal. One of the other brothers even jokes about how sis should marry him instead. The girl is about 18 I believe and waiting for her "brother" Luke to come back and marry her.
There are other flaws it the story but the incest thing was impossible to get past. Just ewwww.

A wonderful, engaging read.

I've been sorely remiss in not reviewing this before now and wish to apologize to the author. Alas, as we all know life gets in the way.

I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed every hair-raising, page-turning adventure Flint and Julia encounter. The book has every element necessary to a true, Historical romance.

Well done Ms. Davis!

Western Romance at it's best. The characters in this story are real, and down-to-earth. Set in the 1860-70s small town of Colorado. The heroine is a red haired lady, named Red Fox Woman by a Native American and a woman of many talents. The hero, rugged, and handsome in his own way. The story starts with who owns what property, and goes into cattle rustling and gunslingers. I thought I was in the middle of the OK Corral, Butch and the Sundance Kid, Gunsmoke, and the Lone Ranger. Great read from a...

Western romance in Golden, Colorado Territory 1868Julia Gast flees Pennsylvania and an unwelcome fiancé and heads west to the ranch her late uncle left to her. The only problem is that when she arrives she's not the only one who has a deed for the ranch. This was a Western romance, with Julia raising horses for extra money. What makes her different than many other romance heroines is that she's also an accomplished potter. Oh, and she has a glorious head of bright red hair. This was a fun, quick r...

This story reminds me a lot of the old westerns I used to read when I was much younger. It has a quaint air to it with a nice story line. I was quickly drawn into the lives of the main characters and cheered at their successes. Character development is of a style that I very much enjoy. There isn’t a lot of tell and it is very much a show meaning the characters are allowed to develop through their actions and their impressions on other characters and not a lot of narrative by the author telling ...
