As exciting as ever. The author excels in keeping readers on the tip of their toes and on a knife's edge regarding the plot and characterisations elements from the onset through out. I'm pleased to report that things just keep on escalating with no end in sight, and that's a good thing. In this installment, we see the adoption of a few new plot lines introducing an ever wider reach regarding the lore and world-building in the series. Anton Slayne continues to fight for his beliefs and loved ones ...

The Day Guard is the fourth book in The Metaframe War by Graeme Rodaughan. It serves as a transition to the second story arc of the series. Still reeling from past events the Order of Thoth, the Vampire Dominion and the Red Empire begin to maneuver their forces into place as each continues to seek to control the fate of the fabric of reality. What no one realizes is a new faction has entered the game, one thought to be long extinct when it's remembered at all. This book ended up being a combinati...

This book was a lot of fun. It wasn’t quite as action packed as the previous installment, Dragon’s Den, but it had plenty of guts and glory. I would say this book had more of a political bent with all of the various factions going through some internal chaos and changes. The story continues very nicely with some major reveals and adds some new, and substantial wrinkles. ***Edit after third read***The characters get much deeper in this, the fourth book of the Metaframe series. During my third rea...

I would like to thank the author, Graeme Rodaughan, for providing me with an ARC of The Day Guard. Also, thanks to another buddy read with my fellow vampire loving crew at Castle Dracula. The Day Guard is Graeme Rodaughan's 4th book in The Metaframe War series. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite ongoing series. Graeme continues to build upon the previous books and add new elements along the way that make the story hard to predict and even harder to put down. As with the previous books, ...

Welcome to the Metaframe War Book Four: New Plans & Ancient Enemies. Whatever you thought was going to happen, guess again!Cornelius Crane is back in focus. No longer blinded by ego, Crane is gathering forces, trusting no one, and making moves.Chloe Armitage, my favorite vampire, has been caught out by the new Crane. But Chloe has a mind as flexible and dangerous as her body, set backs are stepping stones.Louise Wesson, my favorite character, is working alone to destroy the Vampire Dominion ...

I had the privilege of joining an ARC group read of book 4 of the Metaframe War series. Thanks to the Castle Dracula group and especially to the author, for setting this up and providing ARC copies of the book. Mr Rodaughan's participation was terrific, and his insights as we went along added even more to my enjoyment. The entire group was awesome!Book 4 continues the story from the end of book 3. The characters we've grown to know from previous installments are here, plus a few exciting new one...

Author Imbroglio! Characters Make Impossible Demands on Hen-Pecked Scribe! "Well, what could I do? - It was a real doozy of a night!" - The Scribbling ScrivenerA Doozy of a Night. It was a peaceful evening at home, I was staying up late working on The Day Guard, the 4th book in my series about the Metaframe War. In between writing the usual stuff about Chloe’s quest for her liberty, Anton’s search for justice, and the various machinations of Cornelius, the Red Ghost, and the Raven - my phone rang...
