Beautiful and absorbing, this is a deeply personal and wonderfully idiosyncratic travelogue from the author of the Poldark novels.I read the second edition, which includes an introduction by Winston Graham's son, Andrew. He mentions that his usually reserved father revealed more about himself in this book than he ever did in his autobiography, Memoirs of a Private Man (the cover photo also appears in The World of Poldark: Cornwall in Winston Graham's Novels). If you pick up The World of Poldar...

This book features some truly stunning pictures. It really helped me picture the setting while I was reading the novel. I absolutely loved Winston Graham's Poldark books, and I also adored the TV series available on Amazon Prime! This is a stunning coffee table book, perfect for anyone who loves to travel to breathtaking landscapes from the comfort of their own home. Windswept Cornwall reminds me a lot of Cape Cod or coastal Maine with its rugged rocks and sandy beaches, but apparently, Cornwall is much warmer and rainier. Winston Graham reflects on his wonderful years in Cornwall, as well as his visits later in life after he moved away. He discusses some of the inspirations for the locations and characters in the saga. ...

This book isn't really about our lovely Poldark from the TV show. There are only two pictures of him and one of Demelza in **The World of Poldark: Cornwall in Winston Graham's Novels**. It's actually about beautiful Cornwall and Winston Graham talking about growing up there, the show, and other things. There *is* a book about the current show and all the behind-the-scenes stuff. I forgot the name, but it's on my Amazon wishlist! 😉 I mainly got **The World of Poldark: Cornwall in Winston Graham'...

Winston Graham's *The World of Poldark: Cornwall in Winston Graham's Novels* is a captivating memoir celebrating his deep connection with Cornwall. He lived in Perranporth for a while and found the inspiration to write his beloved Poldark series there. This book is packed with historical insights and personal stories from his life, along with fascinating details for Poldark fans (of course!) about the real places that inspired the settings and characters in his novels. Reading *The World of Pol...

The photos of Cornwall are gorgeous, but the title, "The World of Poldark: Cornwall in Winston Graham's Novels," is a bit misleading. Honestly, too little of the book actually focuses on the Poldark novels themselves. I was really hoping to find out exactly where Winston Graham pictured Nampara, what his mental map looked like for the important estates and all the towns he mentions in the books. There's a pretty basic map tucked in the back, but it takes some real effort to connect the towns fro...
