So many actionable tips! I borrowed it from the library, but I seriously need my own copy of *The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less* so I can really drill Jefferson Fisher's ideas into my brain and become a better communicator. From crafting killer emails to projecting confidence like a pro, this book is a treasure trove of practical advice… sometimes it’s as simple as swapping out one word for another. It can feel a little overwhelming with so much info packed in, so Jefferson Fishe...

It's a very short, but genuinely useful book.\n\nTBH, I was pretty disappointed for the first 30-40%. The advice was actionable but felt really generic ("thanks, Captain Obvious!") and not particularly insightful. Fortunately, it got MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better in the second half: there are some great techniques related to confidence, boundaries, pace, defensiveness, etc. I was listening to it while running, on my phone without an app to take notes, and I really regret that – there were so many good...

I REALLY loved this book. It and "The New Emotional Intelligence" by Travis Bradberry are my favorite self-improvement books of 2025. Let me explain why I loved it so much. What makes "The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less" stand out is its immediate applicability. Jefferson Fisher doesn’t overload you with theory. Instead, he delivers straight-to-the-point techniques—like how to pause in the heat of conflict, frame feedback constructively, and set healthy boundaries without guilt.

I really like Jefferson Fisher. I feel like if I'd only read "The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less", it would be a solid 4-star book, but to me, he's much better in spoken word. I highly recommend his podcasts or any podcasts where he's a guest, for that matter. If you're looking for self-help communication advice, check out his interviews!

If you're a fan of Jefferson Fisher and enjoy his quick, 47-second videos, then "The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less" is a fantastic recap, packed with succinct and genuinely useful information. I spent about 15 years coaching a team on communication skills, and I can say that Fisher's methods are both easy to understand and, more importantly, easy to remember. I'm personally going to focus on cutting "I think that" from my vocabulary and replacing it with "I am confident that." It...

Jefferson Fisher is a Texas-based personal injury attorney with a podcast, YouTube channel, and other platforms that he successfully parlayed into a book deal: *The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less*. While none of the advice in *The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less* is groundbreaking or revolutionary (it borrows heavily from Stephen Covey's *The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People And The 8th Habit*, particularly the principle of "seek first to understand, then to b...

2.5 starsThere's some universally applicable advice in "The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less", but Jefferson Fisher's insistence that a societally ingrained masculine communication style is the ideal standard bothers me. This is especially true when we consider how people who *aren't* White, Straight (Christian) Males are perceived when they communicate in that way. In my opinion, Fisher shows a real lack of understanding regarding societal expectations and constraints around gender...

Many thanks to @prhaudio for the #gifted audiobook of this amazing book, which comes out March 18th. *The Power of Talk: Communicate Better, Argue Less* by Jefferson Fisher is my most anticipated book of the year, and it’s not even a thriller! I have been following @jefferson_fisher since the very beginning. He posts short videos on how to communicate effectively during different scenarios. He breaks it down into ...
