James Patterson's *The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy* offers a decent overview of the case, packed with details, so I'd recommend it if you haven't been following the story closely. However, if you're already well-versed in the details, you might not find much new information here. Also, if you've seen the *One Night in Idaho* mini-series, pretty much everything covered there is also in *The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy*. Personally, I'd recommend the show over the book, simply becau...

A pretty thorough overview of the 2022 murders of four college students in Idaho, with The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy maintaining a clear focus on the victims and their families. Those already familiar with the case likely won't learn much new from James Patterson's work, but the structure of The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy facilitates a better understanding of the situation as a whole (in my opinion, anyway). If you're looking for true crime book reviews, this is a solid overview...

3 Stars = Okay. I don't regret reading it.

An interesting look at this tragic event. I appreciated that the focus was primarily on the victims. However, it relies heavily on speculation, which I didn't love.

If you're into true crime books, you might want to check out "The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy" by James Patterson. It's an okay read, but be prepared for some guesswork.

I don't think we need to rehash the storyline because unless you've been living under a rock, you already know the tragedy that unfolded in Moscow, Idaho. What James Patterson gives you in "The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy" is a very specific, detailed background, starting from the beginning and going right up to the trial date. I learned some new facts that I didn't know, and once again felt strong compassion for the victims and their families. Is everything accurate? Probably not. Will an...

I've been following the Idaho murders case from day one. After watching the news, catching the documentaries, and reading other books about it, I truly believe James Patterson's 'The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy' adds a significant layer to understanding the people whose lives will never be the same. Sentencing is tomorrow morning. The pain will be never-ending. We can only hope that, someday, it fades. If you're looking for true crime books that offer real insight, this is one to consider...

Utterly under-researched, rushed, and based entirely on speculation. This book is a dangerous attempt to mislead readers, perpetuating inaccuracies about the case. Even though it's a social science, criminology still relies on scientific principles. Enormous databases and statistical analyses clearly point to the most probable scenarios in this case (check out Gary Brucato, Ann Burgess, and Chris McDunnough, among others, on The Interview Room for eerily accurate profiling done before the perpet...

This book, "The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy" by James Patterson, is shockingly inaccurate. Read the court documents yourself – the phone records alone completely contradict huge chunks of what's written here. The timeline's all messed up, and the whole thing reads like opinion masquerading as fact. Seriously, did the authors even bother to fact-check? The way Xana's portrayed is just… unflattering and disrespectful. She deserved so much better than this. I was expecting a well-researched ...

I know "The Idaho Murders: An American Tragedy" by James Patterson was released while the trial was still pending, which some found controversial, but I thought it offered an excellent deep dive into the case.I followed the Idaho murders pretty closely in the news, but not so obsessively that I knew every single detail. This book gave an insightful look into the friends and family of Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan, and Xana, but also into the backgrounds of people who knew Bryan Kohberger. It was fascina...

This is the first true crime book I've ever picked up, and it's utterly fascinating and horrifying all at once. The four college students murdered by a sociopath in Idaho were typical kids, enjoying football games, life, hanging out with friends, and looking forward to what's next. Then, the evil that had been stalking at least one of them snuffed out their lives in mere minutes of terror and unbelievable rage. Because it's a true story, I don’t think I'm spoiling anything by revealing that Brya...
