There's a whole host of intriguing suspects in "Shadow of the Redeemer", and the ending definitely left me a bit puzzled, which might explain some of the mixed reviews. But Anthony Hulse is an excellent writer, and in this book, he expertly guides us through the murky worlds of witness protection, family members who are unsure if they can trust each other, and some truly scurrilous characters who find themselves caught up in investigating some pretty gruesome murders. As with all his books, the ...

Okay, so the British slang and expressions in "Shadow of the Redeemer" took a minute to get used to, and initially threw me off a bit. The writing isn't super polished either; there are quite a few typos and misused words throughout. Plus, I didn't find the plot all that original or groundbreaking, to be honest. For readers looking for in-depth book reviews, this one's a mixed bag.

Anthony Hulse's *Shadow of the Redeemer* will keep you guessing until the very last page – it definitely had me fooled! I changed my mind so many times, convinced everyone was guilty at some point, and I *still* didn't figure it out. If you're hunting for a fast-paced murder mystery, look no further. As with all of Anthony Hulse's books, it's gruesome and incredibly well-written. Highly, highly recommended. A solid 5+ stars! (Review date: July 7, 2016)

This reads like something you'd pick up for a dollar at a gas station, written in painfully basic English. It's a real slog to get through unless you're reading it aloud to a kid. Why are so many mysteries, crime novels, and thrillers so badly written these days? Honestly, Anthony Hulse's "Shadow of the Redeemer" could have been so much better with a decent editor. If you're looking for well-written crime fiction, this isn't it. Just my two cents on this book review.

I really enjoyed the story in "Shadow of the Redeemer" by Anthony Hulse, but honestly, the typos and grammatical errors were super distracting. It felt like I was reading a first draft. The content itself was solid, but I kept feeling like I should be marking up all the mistakes. A good read overall, but needs a serious edit! For more book reviews, check out my page.

Retired Detective Chief Inspector Dodd thought he'd closed the case on that horrible serial killer when they found the suspect dangling from the rafters, his latest slaughtered victim nearby. But then, more bodies turned up. Which meant the killer had an accomplice. But who? One of his sons, perhaps? When the family changed their name and fled south to Cornwall to escape the media circus, more murdered girls started appearing nearby. And when they vacationed in Wales, another girl was killed. It...
