Preston Lost is a fighter pilot who one day chases a UFO into a bizarre portal. There are no explanations beyond this; no biographical backgrounds, no motivations. Just action, constant action, *so much* action that you'll need to take breaks while reading. Just like Preston, you'll be bewildered by the weird creatures he encounters, but there's no time to try to understand why the sun is larger in the sky, or why there are dinosaurs, or talking apes, or weird men in this place, because Preston ...

This reads like pure pulp adventure in the vein of John Carter on Mars, except our hero doesn't land on Mars, but 250 million years in the future. What he finds is total chaos: volcanoes and dinosaurs everywhere, the Moon dominates the sky and threatens to fall to Earth, everything is covered in the ruins of hundreds of ancient civilizations, and on those ruins live the feral descendants of humans, most of whom barely resemble us anymore. This hairy, tailed, winged, scaly bunch are constantly fi...

Huge fan of John C. Wright's science fiction. Here he revisits the evolution versus faith theme, reminiscent of his 'Count to a Trillion' series, in "Pangaea Ultima: Lost at the End of Time". A fantastic read. A truly inventive work of imagination. Definitely a great book review contender!

More fine work from WrightIf you’re a fan of John C. Wright, there's plenty to love in "Pangaea Ultima: Lost at the End of Time". We've got a classic, pulp-style hero with a strong jaw, a gorgeous princess from Atlantis, brand new human races, and all the conflicts that come with them.No book is perfect, and if I had to nitpick, I'd say it's a tad too focused on action for my personal taste. Wright is absolutely brilliant at writing action scenes, but I usually read his work for that incredible ...

This reads like old-school sci-fi pulp, but with a noticeable Christian undercurrent. John C. Wright is easily my favorite sci-fi and fantasy author at the moment. If you're looking for thought-provoking science fiction book reviews, definitely check out *Pangaea Ultima: Lost at the End of Time*.

It might seem odd to give a 4-star rating to a book I didn't finish. The main character, Preston Lost, is larger than life – a military hero who's practically invincible. The story's in that Doc Savage vein, and it's very well written. What made me finally put down *Pangaea Ultima: Lost at the End of Time* was pure exhaustion. Following Lost's non-stop physical struggle to survive, facing relentless and seemingly insurmountable threats to his life, just wore me out. Someone else will absolutely ...

Lost on the Last Continent, Book 1Action! Adventure! Far-future dinosaurs!Colonel Preston Lost is in hot pursuit of a UFO in a plane custom-built for the job (and for bending the rules) when it zaps him into an eye—or rather, he soon realizes, a vortex. Plunging through, he finds himself in the far, *far* future, where the sun is a colossal red giant, the moon looms large (but is still recognizable), and dinosaurs have somehow been dragged into the mix. Here, he encounters the numerous future ra...

John C. Wright's imagination is a national treasure. He masterfully blends a sci-fi time travel narrative with a "Lost World" ambiance, an Edgar Rice Burroughs-esque feel, and the pulse-pounding excitement of classic serial cliffhangers. *Pangaea Ultima: Lost at the End of Time*, part one of this series, was an absolute blast. Old-fashioned post-apocalyptic fiction with present-day relevanceThis is a seriously gripping book, the kind you just can't put down. The main character is a total throwback – a proud American who still believes in classic American values but feels totally out of place in this overly peaceful, almost sedated future world. He gets sent to a wild, untamed world filled with these advanced post-humans from different races who just can't wrap their heads around concepts like freedom, morality, and ev...
