Honestly, Tina Knowles would have been better off writing this memoir about her childhood and family, similar to what Viola Davis did. Including her daughters and current life feels thin because she can't be truly vulnerable due to fame. It's missing detail and context. I was hoping for a deeper dive into Tina Knowles' life, and while "Matriarch: A Memoir" has some great moments, the sections on her early years are definitely the strongest. If you're looking for celebrity gossip, this isn't it. ...

Okay, wow, *Matriarch: A Memoir* is seriously the best memoir I've devoured in ages! I was absolutely hooked learning about Tina Knowles and hearing her tell her own story. I'll admit, being a die-hard Beyoncé fan is what initially drew me to *Matriarch: A Memoir*, but being Bey and Solange's mom is just *one* tiny piece of Tina's incredible life. Born Celestine Beyoncé in Galveston, Texas, Tina was the baby of a family of seven. She raised her own family in Houston with her husband, Matthew. Th...

4.75 Stars!"Later, daughter will miss the sound of her mother calling her name," Tina Knowles, or Mama Tina as we in the Beyhive call her, is, of course, the mother of Solange and Beyoncé, surrogate mother of Kelly, and grandmother of Blue Ivy. She may have birthed one of the most talented artists in history, but there's so much more to her story.I could have devoured *Matriarch: A Memoir* in a single day, but I chose to savor it slowly, picking it up only when I needed a pick-me-up. I'm going t...

"Matriarch: A Memoir" made me feel everything. Happy, sad, empowered, nostalgic, heartbroken—and above all, deeply moved.Reading Tina Knowles’ story was like being invited into the living room of a woman whose strength and grace have quietly shaped one of the most influential families in culture today. This book is not just a memoir—it's a love letter to resilience, motherhood, womanhood, and the power of family.Tina’s journey had me in tears more than once. What she endured in her marriage to M...

I'd give *Matriarch: A Memoir* a 3.5, not a 3, but GoodReads doesn't allow half points...There is no doubt Tina Knowles is amazing. A woman leading her life with love, trying to ensure love remains her legacy. *Matriarch: A Memoir* definitely represented her voice, and it was less polished than I expected, filled with fun insights and context into the personal lives of her very famous daughters. Still, as the memoir is told through the lens (and the blind spots) of a loving mother, there are no ...

At this stage of my life, I'm really connecting with stories of women embracing themselves for the first time, even at ages when society might think it's too late for self-discovery. *Matriarch: A Memoir* is a story about learning self-love, self-worth, and self-advocacy as a woman who transitioned from daughter and sister to wife and mother, until she finally reached a point where she could simply… be herself.
Tina Knowles masterfully crafts a bold and raw exploration of self, filled with intr...

The first half was excellent, but the second half skipped over *so* much. Tina Knowles basically went straight from 2011 to 2021 in "Matriarch: A Memoir"! And let's be real, a *lot* famously went down in the Knowles family during that decade. I was hoping for a deeper dive into those years. Still a good celebrity memoir overall, but definitely felt like some chapters were missing.

THIS is how you write a memoir! Seriously!Tina Knowles absolutely delivered with *Matriarch: A Memoir*. This woman has lived a LIFE. Nothing was glossed over or skipped – like, at all! So many of these recent “memoirs” leave out huge chunks and give us nothing. After reading *Matriarch: A Memoir*, I have so much respect and admiration for Ms. Tina. Now, do I love Destiny's Child and Beyoncé? YES. Would this book still be 5 stars if I didn’t? Most likely, YES. I absolutely HAVE to own a physical c...

I've always felt like Tina Knowles has been fairly transparent, but *Matriarch: A Memoir* really gave us the chance to get to know her on a deeper level. I loved the structure of the book, how it showcased her life as a daughter, her life as a mother, and then her life as an individual. Reading about her family experiences was genuinely heartwarming. Through so many phases of her life, her family was her anchor, and her deep love for them shines through. She has so much love for the people she c...

I had to add this to Goodreads the second I saw the announcement. I don't usually read celebrity memoirs, but a book from Beyoncé and Solange's mother? That's one I absolutely want to read! I'm really looking forward to diving into "Matriarch: A Memoir" by Tina Knowles. This sounds like a great celebrity memoir, and I can't wait to get my hands on it!
